Awesome, man! How difficult was it to put together?

YanDoroshenkoI won't sugar coat it, it's a lot of work, There are only 56 switches but each has a diode and optionally, a resistor and LED. I socketed both pro micro controllers and I highly recommend you do that for practical reasons. It's also possible to add underglow but I haven't taken that step yet.
It's an enjoyable build nonetheless, it just requires a fair amount of preparation and planning. The result however speaks for itself.

yanfaliI thought it would be a lot of work when I saw 56 diodes as a part of the kit.

YanDoroshenkoI also have the keyboard with the PCB case and decided against backlighting, and it was the first time me soldering in YEARS and I did funk up the second board (waiting on more parts) will be doing underglow for sure though.
There is a lot of work, but if you take your time and follow the instructions its by no means out side of the average DIY-ers ability

YanDoroshenkoIf you don't install the backlight components that would halve the build time. Here's the PCB in it's full glory.

yanfaliWhat did you use to socket the controllers? Did that increase the height of your middle layer? I will soon get the last parts for my Iris build😎

Yes but only on the right side. I'll need to get M2 12mm spacers, they are on order. You make do if you use some washers until they arrive.

yanfaliOh one other thing. I had to clip the pins of the switch underneath the left pro micro as it would hit the capacitors of MCU and it wouldn't seat all the way down. I think this depends on how the pro micro was manufactured.

paul.hudginsYeah LEDs have one massive drawback unless you sip socket them, you won't be able to open the switches again. The plate actually has cut outs for opening cherry or gateron switches.

yanfaliOK, the RGB strips I ordered arrived and I added the underglow mod. Extremely easy to do, just 4 wires on the primary and 3 on the secondary. It looks pretty good, I haven't quite figured out the trick with the adjust layer yet though. I did manage to rip off the connector on one of my pro micros though and had to replace it with a back up. Thank $diety it was socketed. I need to buy a sacrificial connector and hot glue it into place.

yanfaliBecause I destroyed a pro micro I added a sacrificial USB micro extension male to female extension and cable tied it to the spacers. Aesthetically it's not as pretty but the mechanical advantages outweigh that for me.
