I dont have any UL rain/dwr jackets for two reasons. Cost is one of course but it comes second to color choices. I completely understand the need for bright colors when mountaineering, snow treks, etc. However, as many have already mentioned, I dont want to stick out like a sore thumb when hiking, fishing, hunting or even just going to work. There has got to be a large enough market for companies to make earth tone jackets. Just as one example, My Trail has great price point on their UL rain/wind jackets but offer only two colors (I think) which are bright. I won't buy something in a color I dont like even if it works perfectly.

JstbrdEh? Most jackets come in colours that include black or grey. For example, Outdoor Research, Marmot, Montane, Black Diamond do at least black/grey and sometimes dark green and brown jackets in their ultralight models.

NotABotThey do....but not at the same price point as some of the others. I have almost pulled the trigger on some of OR's stuff but I cant justify the price. If I was able to hike more than I do.....maybe. Black and grey are fine but would just like to see more muted colors....even camo but that would really jack up the price. Thanks.

JstbrdOutdoor Research jackets in brown are $150 online. Black Diamond waterproof jackets in black start at $130 (MSRP!)
Not sure what kind of price point you're thinking here, but any sub $100 shell that's not simply poncho would seem a bit of a dubious offering for serious outdoors use.

NotABotLike this https://mytrailco.com/collections/mens-raingear/products/mens-storm-ul-jacket Like I have already said, I wouldnt get to use any of what you are suggesting enough. My only point is I would like to see all brands offer other colors to give us more choices. Have a great weekend.
