Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Congrats on sampling the whole series though. I have never managed to get my hands on the old 580s.
The HD580 cans are essentially the first version of the HD600’s w/o the blue/black marbled plastic, you can pop on the metal mesh screens of a 600/650 they fit, an even more open sound, but I like the retro-look of those 580’s screens. Senn knew they had a hit and tried the carbon look with the Jubilee version, collectors item now... only 4,000 made... and then they went with the 600 marbled look to differentiate them from the competition. They are sometimes too much of an honest set of cans some have said in the old reviews - revealing flaws, the cans ‘O’ Truth, but oh well - because the real hunt is for the best recordings anyway, not the Franken-recordings we hear so often now. You can really hear the falseness of auto-tuned voices… Why I got them for a gift, this nephew even has a set of pipes that can punch out a song himself, should have seen his face, what this was really for, when I set him up,, and played Living For The City in 24/96... It is also a "sleeper" looking set of cans/dac/amp, that hopefully won't get lifted out of his dorm room...
But,, I really want a set of the true HD580 Jubilee's, if I can snag a pair... to keep as a reference "Can Zero".
I might be in the market for the HD 58X at some point too, just not before I move in a couple months (massdrop shipping times...). From what I hear they actually have better high end performance than the 660S which is why I've been less interested in those. If not, what you're saying about removing the foam/felt has definitely captured my interest as well, so I'll still have some fun with them.
