Why is a 3.5lb tent with $170 msrp is winning the >$200 ultralight shelter poll? Seems to be a nice design just made of heavy materials though, a collaboration version made of ultralight materials could be a great tent if done right.
Sorry, I added a tent that does not meet poll criteria. Not sure how to remove it.

Most 2 person tents are actually used by one person. I learned that last year when I carried a 4+ lb tent that would be so tight for 2 people. I am going to a 1 person they is 2 lbs. Big Agnes copper spur was on sales for $255. Last years model Sales have been great but you have to look for the sales. If Massdrop can get Z Pack to give you a huge deal I would get it in a heart beat. At 21 oz. and 2 person. Remember price vs. weight.
I am not convinced people understand the concept of ultralight. Four pound tents are twice as heavy as they should be to even come close to the ultralight designation.
I have a hillieberg Unna as my austere environment tent when I motocamp or kyak camp. By cutting zippers and changing out the guy lines and stakes I got it down to 1.9kg which is UL for a four season double wall freestanding tent. I take it when conditions are too extreme for my tarp.
