Guys as an owner of a gaming laptop (Asus ROG line) I wouldn't recommend a gaming laptop. I've had my laptop for 3 almost for 4 years now and trust me there's more cons than pros. The main problems are the price, battery, and size. Price Not everyone is in the boat of trying to save as much money as they can but really who doesn't like saving a couple bucks? Building your own PC isn't as hard as you think and in doing so you can choose what parts you want and the quality of them. This means you can go over or even under budget, when it comes to building its all up to you. Also side note, PC's lose value, or at least your cards do overtime (mining has changed this I know) but your desktop is easy to crack into, replace the part, then sell back. Laptops on the other hand don't have many replaceable parts meaning you normally have to drop another load of cash on a laptop... Battery When I got my PC I came to a strange finding. When playing the laptop, it would lag like crazy on the most simple of games, but once plugged in, the PC would run things just fine. So now I played while having it constantly plugged in thus killing the battery, it's just a somewhat mobile desktop. Size Now this is the killer for me, size. My laptop isn't practical whatsoever as cases were IMPOSSIBLE to find. I started using an old backpack of mine to keep it in if on the move, setting it up wasn't difficult but again keeping it plugged in was a pain. And you may say "hey why don't you just get a smaller laptop, slim it down", but in reality you're now reducing screen size on the laptop. The laptops now are very lightweight yes and slim, but screen size is an issue at least for me when gaming. Not sure the uses of a gaming laptop in general if you're keeping it at home like a desktop unless you take it on the move or maybe do editing off of the laptop but for gaming I'd advise a build. Trust me its more bang for your buck unless you really are in a situation where you have to move constantly.
1060 for that price no thanks and the 900 extra for a 1tb version ? Maybe there useing a gold sad/hdd
Gt83vr is clearly the best option here with its 1080 sli
I personally own the gs63vr stealth pro with the GTX 1060 and I love it. Its very light and thin making it easy for when i travel. There is always the 2017 gs63vr with GTX 1070 if anyone needs more power but its also about $800 more expensive.

They now have GS63VR STEALTH PRO-078 which has the GTX 1070 Max-Q with 120Hz 3ms display at $2099. I am seriously thinking about switching out my GS63VR GTX 1060 for this model.. It's a bit of an investment but i could use the extra GPU performance and really want that 120Hz 3ms display...

I agree the display on last year's model could use a bit of an upgrade, but is the upgrade worth $700?
I bought it for casual gaming while on business trips. At home, I'd rather focus on my desktop/console.
If that laptop is your main gaming system, I would upgrade. If not, I'd settle. This release is late 2017. Im sure 2018 will have a lot more to offer.
I don't know why people are not voting for ROG G752VS it is totally worth it. it is not sensible to vote for razer because it has a GTX 1060 in it. people should vote for a laptop having GTX 1070 as they will be long lasting.
I wish people would vote for the Alienware laptops, but the Razer Blade is a good option as well.
Sager and XMG arent on the list? 😱
Why are there not more vote for "No Thanks"? Do people just NOT like having money?

Exactly,
Yeah depends if enough people buy it though, the starting price sometimes scares people too much and it ends up being a flop
Any thoughts on the gigabyte aero option? I'm looking for a new laptop that can actually plays games but isn't super over-priced. And I've seen gigabyte pop up a lot when searching for one.

The Aero series are wonderful. Especially the Aero 15, I love the thin bezels on the display, the slim design and long battery life. It'd be nice if it went on drop bc its quite expensive for a gtx 1060 laptop
I would be totally down to buy this on massdrop, if they could save me like 500 bucks
I blame Linus.
