I wonder if people know the difference between the classic and Mk4 Thermapen.... I have the classic and would much rather have a Mk4 due to the fact that it's the SAME thing with more features, but it wasn't out at the time I got mine..... Having a backlight for grilling is huge.

I voted mk4 just for the back light, there are alot of times im smoking at 3am and it would make all the world of difference having the backlight.

I use the Javelin Pro at home - does everything the Thermapen does for 40% of of the price.
Sure its not 2seconds to get a reading, but its fast enough for anything I've ever needed (being used to an analog Thermometer)
I drooled at the thermas for a bit before going for the more reasonable option. No regrets whatsoever.
