Hi everyone,
Thanks for voting! I'll be removing the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Xs from the vote. You can always click the request button for these and you will be notified when they drop again. This will open the poll up to the other options.
No one makes "neutral" headphones because human hearing isn't neutral, especially when sounds are right against your ears.
Further this list to vote on includes open backed, closed backed and semi-open. Think anyone will ever agree on one of them? That said most people wouldn't know a truly "neutral" (truly flat?) can if they heard one, and most wouldn't buy one if they DID (as indicated by all the votes for the decidedly NOT "neutral" M50!) I wouldn't mind a good deal on a pair of HE cans but from what I've read they seem to constantly get revisions. After the troubles with the K7XX drop I wouldn't hold my breath for a particular pair of HE to be thrown to those lions any time soon...
Yeah, just also came to say that a lot of these are NOT neutral. I think people are just coming by to vote for their precious ATH-M50 that they personally own, but it shouldn't be included here. Same goes for the K612 and especially the beyer COP. There's no way anyone could listen to the COP and call them neutral.
The frontrunners should be the HD600, HE-400i, and DT880. The HD600 has been deemed one of the most natural and neutral headphones of all time, with the only downside being a low end roll off. DT880 have a bit of bite on the high end. The HE-400i is one that I have not personally heard, but gets rave reviews. This is also the one that I would want to see on massdrop. The HD600 goes on sale often enough that you could wait for a discount. The hifiamn products rarely go on sale, if ever, and this is the type of product that massdrop really helps make more affordable.

Have you even heard the K612? Very similar response to the HD600. Less analytical than the K702.

I have, and remember the K612 having a little too much mid-bass and a slight thickness in the lower-mids. It's not that they aren't a good headphone, but I wouldn't choose them over others in the same price range.
Good, the first two voted are anything but neutral.

Indeed. The ATH-M50 is definitely not neutral, and if you read a fair number of reviews about it that is clear. It is bass and treble heavy with recessed midrange, with bass bordering on loose and boomy. It shouldn't even be in this poll.
