I think the problem that MD has ran into with laptops is that the profit margin on them is fairly low, so there isn't a whole lot of wiggle room for distributors to work with massdrop.

Well a couple percent on a couple thousand dollars still makes it competitive.

Just like we will never see an Apple Watch on massdrop, we won't see an alienware on there either. Infact no laptops have ever been bought off of massdrop. With that in mind, here are some brands suggested by you, who might actually agree to a deal with massdrop for a bulk buy. Enjoy.
