Hi Everyone,
Thanks for voting in this poll! At this point, we've contacted manufacturers and distributors of the top five options.
At this point, none of them are interested in listing their products for the community. We'll continue to search for a source, but if you're interested in an office chair drop, you'll probably be waiting a long time.
Thanks for your support on this poll and hopefully we'll be able to find an alternate source soon.
There's a Mirra 2 out now, which i found to be better than my Mirra 1 in terms of build and adjustment, Ergonomic feels more or less the same however, with a cloth textured back instead of plastic.
These companies can be hard to work with on price. Many manufacturers have deals with 3rd party vendors/distributors/etc. that fixes the minimum price. I ended up buying one full price a number of months ago because I could not find it on sale anywhere. Best I got was free shipping.
I own both an Aeron and a Freedom chair. The Aeron was comfortable enough, but did not have a headrest, and so I bought the Freedom with fabric-over-gel upholstery. After many years of daily use, I'm ready to replace the Freedom chair--the rough fabric hurts my elbows, and the seat pan is starting to feel insufficiently padded and presses against the underside of my thighs. I tried the Embody and like the way the seat feels and the fact that the edge folds down and doesn't cut against my thighs.
There have been multiple attempts at chair drops over the last year. There has been no response in the threads from a Massdrop employee, nor has any action been taken.
False. Scroll up and expand the conversation I replied to. Andy from Massdrop stated they reached out to manufacturers including Herman Miller and "IF everything goes right, we can get this campaign live at the end of May." Since then Massdrop has *failed* to reply to requests for status updates.
I have the Mirra2 at home and the Leap at work. I have to say that I like the back support more on my Leap but both are very comfortable. Sometimes I like to put my feet up and the Mirra 2 has more room for that, atleast for me.
The Aeron chair is amazing, but I'm sure Herman Miller wouldn't do a drop. We have the Embody also (Herman Miller employee in the family), but I still prefer the Aeron.
