Weird, seems like this poll has been deleted or something. Can't find it on the search bar and can't find it in my profile. I have to go into my past comments to find this poll. Even now, i can't access the voting section, just the results and discussion. Anyone knows what going on?
Thanks for creating the poll! We've reached out to the manufacturers for the most requested products. Currently, all of the top products are unavailable, as the O2+ODAC combo are out of stock until next year.
Since this is not a viable option at this time, we have closed the poll for now. We will keep you updated if anything changes.
Why has nobody suggested the Schiit Raggy. :(
And as mentioned earlier, only about one fifth these are 'high-end' or anywhere near end-game.
Like...Magni, Pico? There is no way...
Someone should probably change the name of this poll to "Headphone Amp". If I just hear amp by itself, I think power amp or integrated amp (for speakers).
Also, since this is about "high end" headphone amps, I recently went to T.H.E. Show in Newport Beach and heard a good handful of high-end headphone setups. My favorite high end solid state headamps were Schiit's upcoming Ragnarok, SPL's Phonitor 2 (as someone who prefers speakers to headphones, I really loved the crossfeed feature, not that the amp itself wasn't one of the best I heard with or without crossfeed), and HeadAmp's GS-X (this paired with HD800's blew my mind (fed by an Ayre Acoustics DAC)).
I realize that these products are quite expensive, but the thread is called "high-end," so I didn't want to bother naming more budget-oriented gear (not that there isn't great budget gear out there). Stuff like the O2 really has no place in a "high-end" thread (I'm not saying it's not a good amp for the money, but it's not high-end, both in price, and the more important performance aspect).
Haven't heard the HeadAmp GS-X mk2 personally, but I did read a lot of impressions and reviews on it. Too bad there is a 6-9 months wait for one of those, which makes it practically impossible to get it to drop on here. By the way, my second vote goes to the GS-X mk2, and my third vote is for the v200.
I simply do not understand why O2 would sneak in to this High End vote. People can easily get a drop on them, no need to monopoly every vote on hifi amps.
Haven't heard the BHA-1, so I can't really formulate an opinion on it. Although I have read plenty of reviews about the BHA-1. All I know is the Taurus mk2 made it to the wall of fame on
Innerfidelity .com, and BHA-1 didn't.
