Most of these devices are last years news. The Pono and the Sony Walkman NW-ZX2 are better devices.

I've been doing audio since I built my first stereo in the early 1960s. My audio tastes lean toward much better gear than is in this list.
The FiiO X3 and the iBassos don't belong on a drop in 2015.
I'm glad to see that this list has expanded somewhat.
I added the Sony Walkman NW-ZX2, which isn't available world-wide yet. There is another vote started by "cjpinner" that has better devices than this list. It includes the ZX2 and the higher end A&K 120 as well as the HiFiMan 901s.

"Don't belong on a drop in 2015" - Newer doesn't mean better, especially with companies like Sony who don't need to innovate to stay above water. They have enough sustenance with consumer elctronics without catering to the niche market that is audiophilia. I am not saying that these are not worth the money, I haven't heard them, but just because something came out a while ago, does not make it obsolete. Also, the Pono, while sounding good is just not a comfortable player IMO. While sound fidelity is indeed the end goal, the device providing the sound should also be comfortable, as I find the iBassos to be, and I find the FiiO's are not so much.
