how many times can this be re-used? does the manufacturer state this? like is it 4-7 times? or more like 10-20 times? and how sturdy is this? thinking of using it as exercise tools....

@tmdals0213 As far as I know, you'll be able to use this until you can't melt it (for example if you use mold it around something you really, REALLY do not want to heat up). In other words, a lot more than 20 times. As for how sturdy it is I can't give exact measurements. I have, however, seen someone on the instamorph.com gallery make a chair purely out of instamorph, so it's pretty sturdy.

It can be reheated more than 20 times, manufacturer doesn't state this, we tested it. It would be the same as melting wax, except when it cools, it turns into solid plastic, as long as you don't burn it, you can reshape it by heating it up again.

I would be overly cautious if you plan on using it for exercise, just because even exercise equipment tend to fail after repeated use. However, this would be perfect if you wanted to wrap it around grips/bars so they fit your hand perfectly.
this stuff is awesome, i bought a small tin a while back, if your curious what it looks like when you heat it up i made a video of it

That's awesome! Can you post that video on the discussion thread?
Hey Guys! The drop is live! Instamorph didn't want to work with us, but after testing out 4 other products we found the exact same one for a much cheaper price: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/magic-plastic-pellets
Or you can buy silicone caulk and corn starch, which is pretty much the same thing

@Brent You might be able to use that mix for some projects, but because it gives off a smell of Acetic acid, you won't be able to make things like custom IEMs or teeth for cosplay. Also, the silicone may contain solvents that could be absorbed by the skin, so you cant mold it around yourself. In addition, you'll have to go through the process of mixing the silicone and corn starch every time you want to redo your project, whereas you can simply melt Instamorph and retry.

Whatever you want.

It's basically a building material. You heat up the pellets and get a "putty" texture then you set about forming it into whatever shape/part/repair you want. It's pretty popular with artists and hobbiest that are into RC's and trains and model building and such.

Check out their fbook page, there are all sorts of posts showing instamorph projects/uses.

https://www.facebook.com/InstaMorph
