O.O did not know about that. I had computers that literally the day after the warranty expired the thing died on me and fixing it was more expensive then buying a new one.
ye i know that was something they planted into the motherboard i think to make it die a few day's after the warranty so that you would need to buy a new one... but they got caught and they arent doing it anymore
The inspiron 15 seems to be the most likely. It currently sits at 800$ with upgradable ram, memory, and Intel core.
Update: I was wrong, apple fan boys seem to be winning (apple will never do a massdrop btw). I'm now rooting for the razer blade stealth, I would've chosen this over the inspiron had it not been for the significant price difference
Apple won't do a massdrop, but I don't care. My big issue is that macbooks are useless for gaming or any kind of thing I want to do. Razer blade is fast, works for gaming, and will work for graphics processing EVEN BETTER than the Macbook. There is nothing you can do on a macbook that a Razer Blade can't do and more.
I have had several MacBooks over a few years now and after custom building my own PC I have to say macs are way underpowered and way overpriced. I created a computer that does laps around my best MacBook for 500$ less than what I bought the Mac for. Razer is the Mac of the PC universe, but at least they make better computers for cheaper.
I have a custom built laptop built in 2012 from falcon NW that I'm sure would do circles around that thing and then some. a dual core capped at 8GB of ram? that wasn't even standard hardware in 2012....
I will eat my hat if Apple does a massdrop. Seriously guys, when have you seen Apple products on sale? They don't need to have sales, they are the most profitable company in the world (Also please don't assume that I'm either an Apple fanboy or hater as I sit here writing this on my MacBook Pro. I recognise that each platform has its own benefits). Also I feel that if mass drop does start doing high end stuff like $500 dollar graphics cards and laptops, they should get there own community.
Im not so sure:
I was looking to edit pictures with photoshop on the go, so i invested in THE HIGHEST END (before the performance base models) Surface book for $2700 and i liked that i could use the pen at first, but then i realized it is not well integrated for windows. But the main issue is that for adobe products, you need good clock speeds on the processor and a graphics card for some of the heavier work. Its stupid that this product has a great processor but cant make it perform. The device has to expel the heat passively, meaning that the processor is ALWAYS thermal throttling. The back of the screen near the windows logo can almost burn (if you leave your hand on it for too long) because the heat has no-where to leave efficiently.
A Macbook Pro would be better at expelling heat, yet the only thing it has going for it is a slightly better processor. You have to buy the 15 inch to get a graphics card, and by that point it is probably better than a surface book. But you are still missing a touch screen, and a stylus. (The Razer Blade only has* a touch screen)[*its optional]
Both the Razer Blade and the Surface Book have the same base clock of 2.6 GHz, yet the surface book cannot utilize it well because it has bad heat dissipation; The Razer Blade can utilize its boost of up to 3.6 constantly because it has fans.
Generally, i like the Razer Blade over everything else because it is the strong and beautiful metal design of a Macbook, with better performance, (at least what i would use it for) and a lower price all round.
Overall=
For a gaming laptop: Razer
For photo editing (Media Creation) with a mouse: Apple
For photo editing (Media Creation) with a mouse / touchscreen: Razer
For Drawing / photo editing with a stylus / touchscreen: Surface
You would just have to decide what is more important (Mouse/TouchScreen/Stylus)
For media consumption: gtfo - you dont need this
I used to like Apple computers, but they have not improved in any meaningful way for a while now. (and no i do not consider the touch bar an improvement. Its cool and can be useful, especially with its touch id, but it requires developers to account for people who use it.

THE PEN=
The Surface App, for controlling the pen's buttons and sensitivity, could not recognize my pen. I tried taking the battery out and re-connecting it but it never let me customize anything. The pen would still work but that app would have made it so much more useful.
lol sorry for length
I'm using a Macbook Pro Retina right now. Sorry, Apple haters — I used to be one of you, but I'm not any more. I've had it for three years now, and in well over *thirty* years of computer geek experience it's still the finest computer I've ever used. It's never gotten a virus, never crashed on me, and never had a problem processing anything, even graphics-intensive games that the specs say it shouldn't be able to handle in a million years. It's the gold standard of the industry for a reason.
And even then, why would you want one? Just get that one $760 Dell and only play easy to run games, there's no point of spending another $2000 for a bit better GPU.
I dont see a $760 Dell on this list... Its probably the chromebook. But even then, a laptop that is cheaper than $1000 with a graphics card? I wish.
I can agree if you are only playing Minecraft or a bunch of 2d games- but for newer games, and people who will use their laptop for more than just gaming (Photo Editing / Video Editing / 3D Modeling)= We need the extra power

It has to be the MacBook. One of the nicest yet most expensive and for this to be dropped would be amazing
