Need to consider the best deal... a 35mm prime is far cheaper than say a wide angle (10-24mm). Getting a discount on the 35mm would be easy whereas finding a great deal on a 10-24mm is much harder....
So, when is going to start the drop for the 35mm DX?? it has got more than 200 votes!
Went to amazon to see the prices of an 10-24mm and it killed me. Even with an amazing drop I wouldn't have money to buy it. I would change my voting to an 50mm then.
I think a 35mm is very versatile because it offers a wide angle, but at the same time I'm looking very forward to the 50mm because, eventhough the angle is smaller, it gives you more depth of field, a characteristic that I love in photos.
I'm an architecture student and I like to take pictures with an accelerated perspective to include more space in the photo. With this in mind I think a 10-24mm would fit me better.
But my knowledge of photography is not that much, so correct me if I'm wrong
Ps: I regret a lot not buying the 50mm AF when it was here on massdrop weeks ago.

Love the 50 mm and would also like the 35 mm for indoor shooting.

Exactly!!!!
There are two 35mm lenses. Would depend on whether people are shooting on DX or FX camera bodies. Not only that, but it would depend on the subject matter. Personally, when I was shooting with a DX camera, I chose to forego the 35mm DX lens and went for the 50mm FX lens. on the DX, it's equivalent to 75mm, a short telephoto which suits what I'm shooting and gave me the option of using the lens on a FX camera body when I purchased one.
Plz add Tokina 100mm 2.8 macro. It's around 350$ and it is perfect.
Hm.. Camera section? Not sure how many impulse purchases you can hit there though, the market is pretty highly segmented...

Yep. Same thinking. Although if you only have a kit lens, that 35mm/1.8 is a no-brainer. Heck I skipped a kit lens entirely and just went straight to this guy last time I upgraded.
