Generally distributors will follow the manufacturers guidelines when it comes to pricing, so if the manufacturers wont provide discounting, then it's highly unlikely the distributors agreement will allow them to sell at a price that would benefit a group buy.

Dude, email me your address (will@massdrop.com) and I'll send you a cookie or something. You're spot on. Distributors are beholden to manufacturer's policies and they're generally not interested in trying anything new.
Hopefully we'll be able to finalize everything with Arizer and get it launched sooner than later!
The Solo is a great vape - BUT, what about checking out the new Ascent?
Or other then contacting the MFLB / Pax manufacturers have you looked into distributors?

Hey Guys! We've been making ALL THE CALLS, contacting everyone in the poll and beyond. Magic Flight wasn't interested (great company to deal with though) and Ploom said they're not interested in offering the group any kind of exclusive pricing. Good news though, right now we're in final talks with Arizer and we're hoping to have them ready for later on this month.

Try da vinci ascent. Supposed to be the next best portable vape. Relase date is may 15th I believe. At first I was all about the pax but after doing a lot of research it really isn't good at all and the da Vinci ascent is going to be the same price and they have already put out a proven product with their first portable vape. Ploom was more concerned with the visual appearance of the pax than the effectiveness of the vape which is why it looks like something that came from an apple store
