The G27 is shit. The pedals are shit (poor quality, too light, flimsy feedback). The shifter is shit. Fanatec Value Pack would be much better, even if it's more pricey.
I enjoy playing racing games, and recently been interested in sims. The problem comes into play when playing games like Sim Raceway, the 360 Controller I use is not only inadequate, but almost completely useless. The steering in sim games is really wide, and with a small joystick one will never get the full range of motion and so even games like George Burns Rally become a pain. The G27 is the best for price set up, but as a college student even a $250 is not really convincing. Would love to see the setup for $200 or so, preferably less.
I've already got the Fanatec CSR Elite setup which is better than the G27, but if people would be willing to buy into the Fanatec Club Sport setup, it's the best wheel/pedal system in the world for sim racing and while pricey is worth it. I'm planning to upgrade for Project CARS but would love to be able to get it at a reduced price.
"... it's the best wheel/pedal system in the world for sim racing..."
Consumer specific, or oriented, yeah. Certainly not the best in the world though.
The G27 is a great racing wheel and is probably the best in its price range but I think if we can get the T500RS wheel lowered, it could be even better. Also, the optional shifter (though pricey at $150ish) is so much better
