Anyone have examples of what this supposed "vr" compatible footage looks like? Or if there is anything else needed to enable VR capture?

notVitaliyIt just means that if you load it into a 360 photo/video viewer, you'll be able to look around the scene. There is no 3D or side-by-side depth effect etc. You can find such videos on YouTube and Facebook where you can drag the video with your mouse, pan your smartphone, or turn your head in a VR headset to look around.

So a 360º 4k camera with a resolution of 2.8k and and FoV of 240º?
Gotta love misleading names.

What was "360" about the surfing video? Looked like a static, plain ol' low quality "Go Pro" type video.

sorry to get carried away - i think there is so much potential for this technology.
those on a budget might get by with merely 6 gopros and spherical coverage.

delnerdoThey make a 1080p version that is much more affordable. I'd have joined already if this were for or included the 1080p version as an option.

ricoh has not yet announced their 4K (or better) generation.
why not rig together 16 gopros and stitch that up?

Why didn't they just put another camera on the bottom and stitch them like ricoh and many others....
The name is incredibly misleading to the consumer.

smallbitLOL I smell class action. It's only misleading to those who think in two dimensions. Doesn't claim a spherical image.
