I have the 2015 model of this shoe. To me, the outsole, midsole, innersoles are rated 5 - highest. Continental rubber is as good as Vibram Megagrip for grip on wet rock, maybe better. Wear is good, not too fast. The uppers are where things fell apart. After just one season of maybe 120 miles, 1/2 the web eyelets wore through because of the coarse small diameter laces. I went to a shoe repair shop to replace them. It looks like these shoes still use those eyelets.
I have a narrow B width foot. Even then, the shoe narrows enough on the outside going toward the toes to make it uncomfortable and a little bit of pain after about 7 hours with a backpack on the trail. I also tried to lace differently to minimize pressure at the lacing near the top. The design there needed some help. After two more seasons of fewer miles per season, the outsole connections to the upper started separating.
These shoes look like they are built more solidly, and the lacing near the top may be better, but it's hard to tell. I liked the feel of the shoes a lot other than being narrow near the toes, so you may love them. If they didn't fall apart, I would be buying another pair except that I'm switching to zero drop shoes.
minhthemasterThis shoe is completely waterproof. It uses Gore-Tex's new design for shoes, which completely surrounds the foot and has channels underneath to help your feet breath better, only seen on the newest high-end shoes and boots.
I have a pair of these....
I think they may have changed the speed lace on the newer model as mine came with traditional laces.
They run small... Id size up at least a half shoe size.
Also they are narrow, so might not suit everyone.
oskardukeI'm a 10.5 US which is around a 43 EU. It fit perfectly. Though I do have high arches and have to fight to get them on. But my feet are wider and taller than most people who wear similar size shoes.
Can someone help me? Normally mi size is US9.5 which corresponds to 43 EU, but in this table appears as US9.5 corresponding to 40 2/3 EU, is that a mistake?? Thanks
oskardukedisagree. I think you are confusing UK and US sizes.
I am a 10.5 US in most shoes and boots.
And am almost always a 43 in EU sizing.
UK 9, especially for Solovair or Doc Martens.

Have had mixed luck with the Adidas stuff as of late, would not recommend these personally for any serious trail work. For this much money I'd get a pair of Salomon's (typically on sale elsewhere for under $100, with Goretex liner and mid-height)
Dlusion84oh I know what you meant. The Salomons seem more rugged, but in my experience, they are not. I destroyed a pair of X Ultra 3's much faster than I should have. I will have to disagree with you, as I've been having better 'luck' with the stripes.
Do you think there is room for the feet to swell in a size 12? Thinking of these for tour de Mont Blanc and want to make sure my feet have the room they need after 10 long days
Todd149084Hard to say, my feet don’t tend to swell much after a long hike. Could be because I barefoot walk a lot for health reasons. No not earthing....not sold on that. Just that walking barefoot is good for developing foot strength. I try to walk a little BF everyday even in snow and ice in the winter but not long. Now my feet don’t get as cold when camping as they did before I started the barefoot walking a few years ago. Opps getting off topic.
