Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

You don't have to tell me there is a problem with gaming headsets sounding better than these audiophile cans. I hear more of the instruments and a better bass with the blacksharks without sacrificing anything else. Are my ears just not trained to pick up on certain subtleties or what? What am I missing? I *want* to like these and they are by no means sound bad.... I'm using these on a vinyl turntable and a sony receiver from the early 2000's. Any ideas?
the main thing you could focus on is called soundstage. that is where you should more quickly notice a difference. these headphones are surprisingly capable of delivering a sound that appears 'far away' or 'outside' of your cup, especially considering they are not open-back. you're probably noticing a 'lacking' bass in comparison to your gaming headphones and feeling like you are missing out.
now some will say burn-in is bullshit....i would agree in some cases, but for the rx900's and any other JVC dynamic driver headphone/earphone, burnin makes a huge diff.....
not sure on these, but wouldnt be surpriced if they start sounding better at 30+hrs burnin...i have seen people say the highs become a bit more tame...(good there are some weird spikes these pickup...its not bad though...i can listen for hours without fatigue, unlike many other head/ear phones i have owned/used.
