Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I'm just thinking because they are closed back, and not open like many of the other headphones on Massdrop, it may be fine to use?
Sorry for the probably silly question, I'm not much of an audiophile, and your advice is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely
Some people, as have mentioned here, do have problems with the isolation factor from the ear cups. This was my biggest fear when looking to purchase these back in October of last year, and I'm thinking I got lucky. For some they work great vanilla, others have to buy new pads. I don't wear glasses and have a slightly ovalesque head and have had no problems with isolation.
The cable and lack of case are my only gripes about these headphones when using them on the go. Having them fold flat is nice for sliding them in a bag, but having a case would make me feel a lot better about carrying around these headphones. The cable is very long(9 feet?) and is not removable. I use a small Velcro strap to "bunch" the cable up to get out of the way. Not ideal, but it works well.
Thank you very much for your detailed and informative post above, l am very happy to hear that you are pleased with the headphones, and that you are using a similar set-up to what I would be (iPhone for the majority, and a general use set of headphones).
The lack of a case is a shame, I'm the kind of person that puts everything in cases, and wraps everything else up in bubble-wrap. If I was an elderly Italian lady, I think I would be type to keep the plastic cover on my lounge suite even after years of use hahaha
I will be keeping my eye out on the drop end date with heightened interest now.
Thanks again. Francois
I guess because those are opened-backed, I was looking for something pretty much solely for commuting- as the 350s will be a home/ quiet place pair.
I guess I'll keep my eye out for a better pair on MD.
Thanks again!
I'm also a neck mover, so that may be slightly problematic.
Maybe one day we'll be able to get the portable version. . .
Thanks again for your help.
