The AKRacing Pro Gaming Chair is, in my humble opinion, one of the best gaming chairs out there. I'm a 6'4", 230LB, IT engineer/gamer, and regularly working or gaming in this chair at least 2 to 4 hours during the week and anywhere to 8-16 hours on the weekend. The backrest of the chair is the only chair that I could find that has a tall enough backrest of my torso. With the height of the backrest, the lumbar support pillow (fully adjustable), and the top pillow, makes the chair immensely comfortable. The frame is sturdy and has zero wobble in it. I've even tested and used the full 180 degree recline of the chair when working overnights. The chair seat is more than wide enough for my seat profile and the length is great for the legs. Chair arms are tight and have a great range of motion, though I really don't use that much once they are set. For the Massdrop price this was a 10/10 purchase. I also received the chair within a week after the drop completed, so amazing service there. This was an upgrade from my previous AKRacing Octane chair that I had for 15 years. AKRacing is a solid company that produces high quality and dependable merchandise.

Wish I had bought it sooner. Very comfortable. Tilt lock is amazing. Wish it as a little bit lower at its lowest setting. I'm 6' 300lbs and I keep it at its lowest setting if I'm rocking or tilt locking. If I'm sitting regularly it sets about an inch above its lowest setting. The pillows make a huge difference. I wish the straps held them in position better. It is very easy to slide them in place with your back though. This is the $300-$500 chair that is worth it. The quality of the chair is amazing. My last $300 chair looks like the piece of Chinese crap it is compared to this beast. Prolonged sitting is very comfortable. Thanks to the thick firm foam I don't have ciatic nerve pain anymore. I've owned it for about 20 weeks now. Just buy this chair if you're thinking about it. It's higher quality than all the other racing chairs. They manufacture their own pistons too. The primary problem for fat men in office chairs is that the place where the piston meets the bottom of the chair bends and the piston loses pressure. This doesn't have those problems. No squeeking. No falling down. Just comfortable sitting that encourages good posture.

Really love the chair, everything is perfect except for the armrest being way to easy to adjust, would really like it if u can hard lock them to prevent them from sliding with the 4d adjustment thing

I have had this chair 3 weeks now. I'm a big man at 6'3 345lbs and wear 48x30 pants. I'm giving this information so that others have an idea on my dimensions. Also, I love purple, went with Indigo and I'm not disappointed at all. I would post a picture of my chair, but it literally looks just like the picture they have listed here on Massdrop.
First, let's start with the shipping of the chair. It came complete and all but one piece was 100%. The seat has the smallest of tears which one of my pics will show and you'll see why I didn't dock a star for something so insignificant. I believe it is the 4th pic in that shows the minor tear.
Putting together the chair was simple enough since I've put them together before. The only thing is the piece that the gas lift connects to didn't have the word 'FRONT' printed anywhere on it and I had to look on the internet to figure out which way the front is. Hopefully, my pic shows it clearly for the next person trying to put the chair together or maybe AKRacing will have the word 'FRONT' printed on that piece.
The chair is on the firm side and I'm ok with this. I've sat in this chair for 6 - 8 hours at a time in multiple seatings and my bottom hasn't felt sore from sitting too long. This seat is 23 3/8" wide in the front and is like that the first 12" of the seat before getting gradually smaller to 20". The seat depth is 20 3/8" from where the back piece connects to the seat to the front of the seat. I feel like I have plenty of leg room in this chair. Meaning, I can have my legs spread as wide as I want to without sacrificing any comfort. I'm loving this lumbar cushion and I really didn't think I would. Give it a chance and move it up and down the chair until you find a comfortable position because I feel it is worth it. The headrest is a bit annoying as it doesn't really stay in place where I want it to. If you are a bit shorter, I think the headrest won't be an issue at all. The base feels like metal and I'm pretty sure that it is. The wheels felt really sturdy.
I feel like the lowest setting is the perfect height for me. Don't worry if you are not as tall as me and I find the lowest setting to be perfect. My bf is 5'10 and it isn't too tall for him. If you are much taller than me, good news, the chair moves a considerable height. From floor to top of seat, it goes from 19 3/8" to 22".
I'm merely making a comparison to another chair for this next bit. My bf has a Serta Smart Layers Jennings Big and Tall chair. It can be found on sale for $229.99 and, I'm guessing, it normally sales at $329.99. I was able to get the AKRacing Max chair for $329.99 from Massdrop and it normally sales for $499.99. Serta is quite a bit softer in the cushion. It's actually too soft for my liking. Between a firm and soft chair to sit in, I'd rather have it a bit firm than one that is a bit soft. This is obviously a personal preference. I also believe that the Serta sits quite a bit lower on its highest setting which is 19" from floor to top of seat.
Below are the pictures I took. I hope this review helps out anybody that is looking at this chair and is wondering if it is a good buy. I think you'll love it!

---------------------------------------------------------Update 16 Dec 2018---------------------------------------------------------- Final update. First, big shout out and thanks to AKRacing for handling my issue so quickly. I received the replacement part on the 11th of December and went through the process of replacing the seat. It took about 20 minutes and when I was done, my chair was back in my office with my extra large butt firmly seated upon it. So far so good, but I am not sure how long it is going to last considering that both seats are constructed the same. Once I took the seat off I was able to see that just how badly bent the chair was. The placement of the bend is at the rear of the seat which was caused, as best I could tell, by me leaning back in the chair. AKRacing gets 5 stars for their superb customer service, quick and no hassle replacement of the part, the chair unfortunately is going to stay at one star. The reason for that is because the structural build is lacking for someone with size. If this seat holds it structural integrity I will change the rating and chalk it up to a bad part, but for now, I can not rate it anything higher than one star. Even with that, I would still recommend their products because they have proven to be a company that stands behind their product and provide outstanding customer support. 10 out of 5 star customer service from Audrey and the rest of the AKRacing team. ---------------------------------------------------------Update 06 Dec 2018---------------------------------------------------------- My first attempt at calling Akracing was at 0900, the phone rang half a dozen times and went to voice mail. I gave myself that all knowing look that we give ourselves when we know someone is avoiding us because they know we are right. With my righteous anger beginning to build I called again 5 minutes later, again, no answer. I then began my war dance (more like back and forth pacing) as I continued to eye the $300 POS chair in the corner. It was mocking me, leaning to the side and back as though it had a flat in the rear tire. Third time is going to be the charm I said to myself as I hit redial 3 minutes later, ring, ring, ring, ring... WTF... I yelled out... as an overwhelming urge came over me to throw my phone across the room. why are they dodging my phone calls! This time I waited through the message and barely paid attention as the message said their working hours were from 0830 PST .... wait... what? Hung up and redialed... office hours are from 0830 PST ...... well good thing I didn't throw my phone since it was only 0915 CST or 0715 PST, but still, THE SHOULD BE OPEN AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE A BROKEN CHAIR! 1030 CST and I wait 5 more minutes for good measure, as I did so I prepared myself for battle. I prepared my response to them when they say that I purchased it through mass drop, I prepared myself channel my rage and beat them into submission, at which point I would be carried through the streets as the crowds cheered my victory over our corporate overlords (at least in my head). Redial and... ring, ring... rin... thank you for calling Akracing this is Audrey, how can I help you? "Oh yeah, here we go!... be all nice when you answer the phone and listen politely just to say you can't help me in the end... I know this trick".. I thought to myself as I tensed up preparing to go to battle as a ufc fighter does before the bell. "HI AUDREY, THAT WAS YOUR NAME? CORRECT!" I said in a strong clipped voice to convey my strength and solid position through my voice. "Yes it is, and who do I have the pleasure of speaking with today?" she asked in her sickly sweet customer service pandering voice that lets you know you are not going to get satisfaction. In my mind I thought to myself "and so the battle begins". "Well Audrey (if that is your name I thought), I have a problem with my chair that I spent $300 on through Massdrop and am calling you since your company made it!" I said in a condescending, powerful, and clipped voice that I reserve for assholes and children." She then parried my tone and question with one of her own just not as strong and with great professionalism, "Oh, my... what is the model and problem you are having?". I got you now I thought to myself as I coiled up like a snake before the strike, "The Akracing Max" I snapped because she should have known... because it is me calling... (then a small broken up voice started to seep into my consciousness as though coming at me from across miles of distance) "St.....b.. in....a....a...ho......". Ok sir (she said because I didn't tell her my name), what seems to be the problem?". "Well... (Sto...be.. in....an....as...hol...... came that voice again, just a bit stronger this time) my chair is broken, the back is sagging backwards and leaning to one side" I said, but not quite as strong because of that nagging little voice in my head. "Do you have any pictures?" she asked with genuine concern. (Stop being an asshole! the voice screamed at me with such power that I took a step back and looked around the room) "I do" I said with a touch of sheepishness in my voice. "Ok, can you go to our website?" quickly came her reply. "sure I said" adding embarrassment to sheepishness in my voice. "On the website, if you look to the right you will find...." and she walked me through the steps of submitting a brief statement of what the problem was, some pictures and my receipt. 5 minutes later I was done and she said that she was going to personally follow this through once it came in. Wait... what do you mean? "Once it comes in I will review it, get it approved and send it to the warehouse so that they can send out the replacement part" she said in her cheery professional and very personable voice. I then asked the million dollar question, "how long is this going to take?". "3 to 5 days" she replied unfazed by the question. "Seriousl???" I asked have in shock, half disbelieving. "yes, but understand that this is an estimate" she replied. "Gotcha" was all I could muster after my battle bubble was deflated leaving me feeling like a total and complete fool. "I will email you as soon as the process is done, did you need anything else?" she asked. "ummm no, I'll just wait for your email" came my subdued reply. We then hung up and I ran the whole conversation through my mind and realized, I was a complete dick! I had a problem and went into the call expecting a poor response and in doing so made a complete and total ass of myself. Kudos to Audrey who kept her composure and treated me as though I was the most important customer of day despite my attitude and not because of it. While my rating hasn't changed yet, it more than likely will if for no other reason than because of the amazing customer support I received. Akracing, if you are reading this, give Audrey a raise, she deserves it! Food for thought, if you have to contact Akracing, remember my story and don't follow in my footsteps because their customer service is there to help you and should be spoken to with that in mind. ---------------------------------------------------------Update 05 Dec 2018---------------------------------------------------------- From 5 stars to 1 star It is with great sadness that I must reduce the stars for this chair. My original review is below but this part is for the update. I received this chair on the 27th of September and loved it, the seat could use a little more cushion but I took care of that by purchasing a memory foam comfort pad from amazon which took care of that. A few days ago I began to feel as though I was leaning to one side when sitting in my chair. I also noticed that the seat back would not stay upright even though I did not change its position. This morning I took a real good look at it to see what was going on and what I found is in the pictures below.

As you can see, the right rear of the chair seat frame is bent. Now I am not a little man by any stretch of the imagination, I am 280 pounds and look like I am about 10 years pregnant but this should not have happened. I will follow this update up with what Akracing has to say once I speak to them. I am sure they will be willing to make this right, I spoke to them when I first got my chair and they were very helpful and professional so I don't think this time will be any different. Sadly, as of now I am going to have to lower the stars for this chair based on this build issue. ___________________________________________________Original Review________________________________________________________ I've only been using the chair for about an hour and as for right now it is a winner, I'll do a follow up in a couple of months to let you guys know how well it holds up. As of right now, it is 5 star based on the look, feel on my butt and the overall ease of assembly even with the lack of instructions. The box it was in was in one piece and there was no damage to any of the parts so yayyyyyyyyy. Took me about 45 mins to put it together by myself so there is no need for anyone to worry about needing any help unless you have a physical disability. The chair looks good, feels good and is very comfortable. It does not reach the comfort level of my old serta chair, but it is comfortable non the less and for sure more stable and solid feeling than the Serta. When I lean back it does feel a little unstable but that is only noticeable because of how stiff my old chair was. The arm rests when fully extended have some side to side play in it and may get worse but only time will tell, the other thing I wish they would ahve done is put one more click of height to the arms because when you put your keybaord on your lap to type you can not rest your elbows on them because they are too low. The lumbar support and the head pillow are a very nice touch, especially with regard to the lumbar support. The head pillow in my opinion should be a little larger because the minute you lean the chair back you will tilt your head forward and the pillow is too small to help support it. I wish they would have enclosed cleaning instructions with types of cleaners to use to keep from ruining the material. They could have put some effort into the assembly instructions but in the end there are plenty of youtube videos that will help you with any questions you might have during assembly such as which way the base plate should be pointing when you mount it to the chair (don't judge me.. lol). Overall, I am very happy with the chair as it is, my concerns with it is with the long term stability of it but that will only be answered in time. As of right now, I am a very happy gamer! Now all I need is for someone to let me know where the ottoman/footrest is, as it did not show up with the chair and I have not receive any tracking and shipping information for anything but the chair itself. So if any of you are M.D. or AKRacing staff and are able to help me out I would very much appreciate it.

AKRacingSupportHi Hutch, I have been holding off on my follow up for a couple of reasons, first, I wanted to put in some more butt time since receiving the new seat. In that time, I had to contact you guys because the base had become compromised due to the unbalanced and bent seat. To the credit of your companies amazing customer service and willingness to stand by your product, all I had to do was send in the pictures and added a short video and presto, you guys immediately sent me replacements. I was super excited because I got my chair back and your team made it super easy and painless to get my problems sorted out. Since then the seat has been solid and has not shown any indication of bending the way the last one did, the pedestal also has been solid, and the replacement arm for the one that broke has also been fine. The reason why I have been holding off on updating is because I wanted to make sure that the chair holds up and in doing so, have noticed another developing issue. The seat back has developed an issue. After the seat and pedestal had been changed, there was a little slop in the seat back. Initially it was not too bad but it has slowly but surely been getting worse. The back now moves freely by several degrees once it is set into position. To clarify, this happens in any seat back position. Initially I did not worry about it because it was not to bad but it has gotten progressively worse over time. While I am a fairly round person, I am not morbidly obese. My current weight is 255 lbs. I purchased this chair because it was advertised as a 400 lb chair. I truly believe my chair is the exception and not the rule with the chairs that your company produces and also believe that all of the problems were just cascading failures due to the original problem with the seat. The seat bending took all of the other parts out of alignment leading to the other parts to have uneven weight distribution and strain on the areas where they come together. I have made sure to praise your company in every one of my posts because you have earned it, but as for my chair, well, with the issues I have had and am continuing to have, I don't see how I can change it. I still use my chair and still love the size, I just wish that the seat itself was a little more comfortable. Had I not received a chair that did not meet quality standards (an assumption made on my part due to the responsiveness of your company with replacing parts) I am sure that the hard seat would have been my only complaint. THE REASON I AM PUTTING THIS PART IN ALL CAPS IS TO MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PART. I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT THE CHAIR I RECEIVED WAS THE OCCASIONAL QUALITY CONTROL FAIL. I HAVE DEALT WITH MANY COMPANIES OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE NOTICED THAT THE COMPANIES THAT INTENTIONALLY AND KNOWINGLY SELL SUBPAR PRODUCTS DO NOT HAVE THE RESPONSIVENESS AND WILLINGNESS TO TRY AND CORRECT ISSUES THAT THEIR CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING. WHILE MY CURRENT CHAIR HAS BEEN A PROBLEM, I HAVE ALSO NOT SEEN ANY OTHER REVIEWS THAT HAVE HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF HAVING THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD. I PAID FULL PRICE FOR MY CHAIR THROUGH MASS DROP AND HAVE NO ASSOCIATION WITH AKRACING OUTSIDE OF REPORTING THE ISSUES AND DEALING WITH CUSTOMER SUPPORT. THEY HAVE NOT IN ANYWAY TRIED TO INFLUENCE MY REVIEW IN ANY WAY WHICH IS WHY I WILL BE WILLING TO GIVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE ONCE I HAVE THE FUNDS TO PURCHASE A NEW CHAIR. ALL I WILL ADD IS THAT IF YOU DO BUY ONE OF THESE CHAIRS, PICK UP A SEAT PAD BECAUSE IT IS A BUTT KILLER.. .LOL By way of FYI, I can not add video to show the issue with the back but if you would like me to send it to you please let me know and I will forward it.

Perfect for big and tall. I'm 6'4" and 260lb and i feel like this chair was made specifically for me. Only a few gripes; the arm rest don't lock into place and move around too easily. I also have had two broken components, the reclining mechanism housing was cracked on delivery and one of the wheels broke in the 2nd week. Customer service was fantastic and replacements parts were shipped out same day. Everything else about the chair is perfect. The seat height was my main reason for buying and this chair sits up high.
