Made in collaboration with our friends at Allegory—a Kickstarter-born Chicago shop dedicated to handcrafted, small-batch manufacturing—this leather cover is making its debut exclusively on Massdrop. It was designed to pair with the silky-smooth paper of the Apica Premium CD B5 or A4 notebooks, and can also accommodate similarly sized softcover notebooks, like the Leuchtturm1917 composition books or Clairefontaine Basics. Each cover is made from supple, vegetable-tanned leather and features a snap-button closure, internal flaps to secure the notebook, and an internal slot for business cards.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of cover sizes: B5 (base price) or A4 (+ $8). Select your leather color (charcoal, coffee, or saddle) and thread color (blue, charcoal, coffee, cream, gray, red, or saddle). For an additional $10, engraving is available and limited to two lines. At checkout, select the optional engraving of your font choice (sans serif, serif, or script) and fill out the optional engraving text box to ensure we receive this request. For an idea of what your personalized engraving might look like, see the photo of the cover engraved with “Eliza." You can also add an Apica Premium CD B5 (+$16) or A4 (+ $20) notebook with grid, blank, or lined paper. Please note that if you order an Apica Premium CD notebook add-on, it will arrive separately from the cover.
A year after its 2012 launch, Allegory added a suite of leather goods to its existing line of pens. To produce these leather products, the company works directly with a tannery in Ecuador, where eco-friendly farming practices are paramount. The waterproofed Latigo leather is built to age well and show character over time. Still, it’s easy to restore to like-new condition with a quick treatment of neatsfoot oil.
Domestic orders will be shipped by the vendor and international orders will be shipped by Massdrop.
Estimated ship date is Dec 22, 2017 PT.
After the drop ends, payment will be collected. To deliver the best value to the group the request will then be submitted to the vendor up front, making all sales final. Be sure to check the discussion page for updates.
