"You seem like an existentially empty loser who is not nearly as intelligent as he believes to be." Project much? This not a simple debate about wires, this adapter is just like all the other adapters for products like phones without a headphone jack. It is pretty simple. Get over yourself son, you are about as sharp as a marble.
lumbeemanI don't think this conversation is going to cool down or get back to a germane topic. So I am locking it. Have a great weekend everyone!
Does it sound two times better than a lightning dongle?

Ares78If you use iPhone then stick to the Apple dongle, it actually sound pretty good straight out of the box. If you're on Android like me (Google Pixel 1), then it depends. Google Pixel 1's headphone jack actually sound pretty good, Pixel 2 dongle is decent too, Pixel 3 dongle sounds awful, I think they changed it to save battery life and also save production cost at the price of sound quality. In the case of Pixel 3 then it's huge improvement. Depending on the phone your mileage may vary.

I have both Apple's Lightning and USB-C dongles (as they were the best of the bunch at the time i picked them up) and was about to purchase another set of each to have as spares until i came across this, has anyone have a comparison between the two? Are there any measurable audio improvements versus the apple one's or are they just nicer/cooler looking? If it's just aesthetic I could just pick up another set of apple ones (lightning and usb-c) for less than a single one of these.

LeeyoI don't personally own this but judging by similar dac that I own in the past, ALC4040 will sound pretty average. I think Apple dongle's Cirrus Logic is a better dac to my ears.

I've been using the Hidizs Sonata HD for a while now. Not enough data here (esp. on the amplification) to tell if this would sound any better. I'll stick with what I have (which is plenty good incl. driving higher impedance headphones).

Lol did you end up ordering it? It's ok I also ordered the Xduoo Link from Drop and still find the Sonata HD II sounds better, lol oh well.

HydeYes, indeed. And yes, I ordered one USB-C and one Lightning. They were pretty, and cheap, but eh? Win some lose some. My 789 has been dispatched :)

Hidizs has a new but similar DAC cable (https://www.hidizs.net/products/hidizs-s1-type-c-dac-cable) also for $25. I got it on pre-order for $20. Also uses a RealTek chipset - ALC 4042 according to above site. But samples to 32/384. Their S3 version is $70 and uses the Cirrus Logic chipset.

munkewI also have that one. In my case works well but I have some issues with Google assistant and with the "next-previous track" of some players. I don't know for sure if my unit arrived defective or this is a common issue with this dac (Hidizs). The thing is sometimes it summons the assistant by its own and with some movements of the cable the track changes.  In music terms I do notice a bit of clarity in the sound compared to common usb-c to 3.5 plugs, so I guess with Alpha & Delta's adapter the experience should be the same.

Daeronicusmy son keeps losing his usb-c to 3.5 cables...so I just bought a bunch of "common" ones for him... $2 each :-) Bought them online, so waiting to see how good/bad the quality is! Supposedly same cable as what came with his phone originally.

I saw "lighting" adapters and had to wonder what type of lights they were trying to adapt.

ThavoWas curious as well. Reached out to A&D and this is what they said. I plan to order one for the switch. Hello Sir, I am sorry for the late reply as this was a tricky question and we needed time to verify.  Yes, it should work on the switch. Thank you!  Regards, Alpha n Delta

I have a set of Audeze ISine20 earphones. You are arguing over the wrong reasons here. First off, Does the addition of the Cypher Lightning Cable make a difference. Most definitely. This cable has an amp and Dac built in. When I switch to regular cable, I am stunned at the difference. Now where you all veer away from the point is this. It's the quality of the Dac that makes the difference. If it's worse then what your source Dac is then it will sound worse. If it's better then your source Dac it will sound better. This is just common sense. Put a Chord Mojo in between and obviously it will sound better. Now not all people like the sound from the same Dac. So realistically a high dollar Dac could sound bad to your ears. This is not passive. It actively affects the sound. When the sound gets to it, it changes the sound. This is active. If it wasnt active there would be no change. Firefly sells millions of their online Dacs for a reason. The comment about speaker and stereo cables is not true. The difference between a braided and solid care cable is measurable. The difference between Silver and Copper cables is measurable. Its physics, copper reacts differently then silver in how a signal is handled. Of course there is alot of snake oil out there. But the fact is many know that Silver cable has a different sound then Copper from the same source.

see I have no idea which Isines your talking about. They make a wide variety. Some d0from 200 to 2000 dollars. Clarify which your basing your opinion on. Remember guy sound is a matter of taste. What you like I may not.

RotorooterDoes no matter which version of isine. The cipher cable with the lightning connector had a dac and has equalization tweeks programed into it. If you read into the audeze website on what exactly is the cipher cable you would have known that.
