Better off with Manhattan Portage. Ballistic 1680D Water-resistant cordura nylon, thicker straps, made in USA.
CalaverasgrandeManhattan Portage does make some great bags however they are not made in the USA.

CalaverasgrandeYes, as is often the case, if you're willing to spend 7x what this costs, you can get a better version.

CauliflowerThe chance of a 70 dollar backpack being made in the USA is extremely, extremely low.

According to Alpine Division web, I noticed a difference. The Rockaway II, MD drop version, use 600D water-resist nylon, the "original" Rockaway use 1000D water-resist nylon. So be aware of this difference before purchase.

I have Alpine Divisions Skate pack, which I think is the same materials. If that's the case, the material and workmanship on my 'Nuzzi' pack is pretty good, no real complaints. I have some other issues with my bag, but none of them are deal-breaking and wouldn't really relate to this particular bag, the 'Rockaway II'. I like the zips on this bags, feel really solid and the rope stuff that hangs off is nice.
I think you'd be happy buying this bag, one of my biggest gripes were the lack of video or written reviews for Alpine Division bags, makes pulling the trigger really difficult for things like bags.

Using as my daily driver now. It's pretty solid but my only gripe is the non-adjustable clasp so if you happen to overload the bag a bit you'll have a hard time getting it shut. I like it though, looks good, pretty water resistant

After using this bag for a few months most of the interior threading in the main pouch has come undone. Aside from that, I’ve loved this bag and appears very well made. Might just be a lemon!
Please shoot us an email and we will send you a replacement! info@alpine-division.com

HazardManiacAs long as you don't carry around a bunch of text books you should be fine. I take a couple notebooks, folders, a book, a moleskin planner, my pencil pouch and a 40 oz bottle. It takes all of it without a problem.
