After buying a proper blade, you must maintain it and keep the edge as sharp as possible, particularly if you actually have to cut something. A pocket-sized tool that weighs less than an ounce, functions with the best of them, and can also sharpen scissors, the Ashland Leather Knife Sharpener is your key to staying sharp on the go and at home.
The Knife Sharpener is produced by Tony’s Sharpeners in Chicago, Illinois, a partner with Ashland Leather. A family operation since 1995, every sharpener is handmade in their workshop. The body is made from aircraft aluminum, anodized for a smooth finish, and the sharpening bits are high grade carbide. Weighing less than an ounce, the sharpener fits easily into the included leather sheath and slips right into your pocket.
To sharpen your knife, lay the sharpener flat on the edge of a flat surface and draw your blade through the center of the symmetrical V bit. As the edge comes back, reduce pressure and stroke lightly to finish. To sharpen your right-handed scissors, place the inner flat side against the 90 edge of the asymmetrical bit and pull through at a 45 degree angle. On this drop, the Knife Sharpener is available in both Black and Blue.
