I've had this wallet for about a year. I absolutely love it. The shell cordovan is beautiful and the wallet has developed a nice patina. But the stitching hasn't held up and is unraveling in several places around the wallet (see attached photo). I haven't used any leather conditioners or cleaners on the wallet that would have degraded the thread, and there is no reason for the stitching to come undone. Could you let me know if Ashland has any sort of warranty on the stitching? Could I send this back to them for repair? After a year of normal, casual use, this certainly should not have happened!!

moonbeamPretty sure they have a lifetime warranty, if I recall correctly! Phil will help you out.

But if they have a lifetime warranty, I would rather have this fixed properly by them. I don't know if I can pull of a saddle stitch. I probably can't even get exactly matching thread. I'll wait to hear back from Ashland Leather... Do they read this discussion, or should I contact them directly? I've had to stop using the wallet, which is really too bad b/c its great otherwise.

moonbeamSame here.. sort of. I've been burning the threads with a lighter to control the unraveling, and if I hadn't done so I imagine I'd be in the same boat as you. Ashland really should have double or triple stitched around the bend - mine popped a stitch right away (within a week?) and every month or two another stitch has come out and I've burned the thread (both sides of the stitch) with a lighter to make sure it doesn't unravel at-will.
Every time I put the wallet in my back pocket the fold of the wallet, right on that corner, rubs the lip of my jeans pocket so I can see how this started for you and me. I do hope the worst is over now that the stitching has retreated from the fold. It's my only gripe and there's no denying the quality of the horween shell. But still, look what happened to yours...

sudoIt is a bummer for me to see the stitching coming out on your wallet. I'm more than happy to repair any issues like these. Just send me an email at ashlandleather@gmail.com -- I can't control threads getting caught on items. If the thread rubs against or gets caught on something abrasive it will rip. Having said that, it is my pleasure to fix this anytime it happens.

ashlandleatherVery cool, I may take you up on that offer one day. It's not actually a big deal for me right now because it seems only stitches near the fold rub the lip of my jeans pocket. but I do feel bad for moonbeam.
And I could just as easily write a post about how awesome this wallet is. I like it mucho. Patina is fantastic, and as always the photo doesn't do it justice.

ashlandleatherDo they all come with a nice centered Horween stamp as shown in the description pictures? I'd really like mine to be centered like that picture.
