Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

My question. Is this particular device worth $200? Obviously anything is going to seem light years ahead of the nano(my motorola moto G plus nearly blew my damn pants off the first time I had to resort to playing music on there-still, i want a dedicated player).
Also, how easy would something like this be for someone who's stupid and lazy. When it comes to tech, my brain don't work too good. If i'm going to invest anything over $150 on something, then I'd like to at least be able to load all of my old music and anything thereafter without causing myself too much grief or aggravation.
So, is this worth the price of admission? Hold off for "X", instead? If so, what is "X"? Thanks dudes and dudettes of the audio community.
Sort of like old school Android vs Apple. Power and utility vs ease of use and aesthetics.
If you just want to make your computer sound better, an option is something the Fiio 11 or Audioquest Dragonfly. They may work with your phone with adapters but I’m not sure.
The chip in this, jr, isn't all that high end and it's not really mid end. There is a real bug with UI on the JR that they didn't care to fix until the next model up.
With A&K you are paying for the name and their modern blade design. Most other companies you pay for the hardware.
