Got my unit yesterday, it's not working via USB. I don't have an S/PDIF out on my laptop so this is useless for me now. I've tried: Turning it off and on again. Turning laptop off and on again. Trying with a different cable. Looking for drivers for D1. Looking for USB audio drivers.
No luck with anything. I would appreciate assistance with this. I am on Windows 7 x64, my laptop has 3 USB 3.0 ports, one of them powered, one of them a USB / eSATA combo port. Also have a USB 2.0 port. On connecting the device Windows says "USB Device not recognized". The power light turns on, there is a 'click' sound from inside the DAC, and Windows gives error message.
payodpandaMake sure you plug it into your USB 2 and not your USB 3. I've heard about issues (with different USB product) that were fixed by plugging in a USB 3 to USB 2 converter. So "backwards compatible" is relative.

Cyberdyne.Systems.Model.101Yes I read about that too but by that time I'd already tried plugging it into all USB ports I have. I have also read that they recommend plugging into a powered USB port (which I have and have tried) but that didn't work either.

payodpandaGo into power settings >advanced settings> USB power settings >USB Selective Suspend Setting> Disable.
Give that a shot.

EQWoodyThanks for the comment, I'd already tried doing that though. Did you try manually changing output device? Right click your volume icon in system tray, playback devices, and choose the digital (or SPDIF) out in case you're using optical. I'm not sure what you'll see as a playback device when connected via USB since that didn't work for me.

payodpandaYes I've tried every possible method of connecting the DAC to multiple devices trying to find out if it was my PC or the DAC, and it has to be the DAC at this point.
