Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

My interpretation of her posts (assuming that she indeed represents Aune Audio) are that: 1. The X1s units sold by Massdrop DO still have a warranty. 2. Massdrop is not an authorized reseller. 3. Therefore, Aune will not address warranty issues directly with end users. 4. Warranty issues will have to handled directly by Massdrop, or 5. Massdrop will act as a proxy for end users in dealing with Aune (or whoever MD obtained the units from).
Personally, I can live with this scenario, but until Massdrop states definitively how warranty claims will be handled, I'm reluctant to join this drop. Hopefully Massdrop will chime in soon.
To comply with warranty AUNE will likely require Massdrop to mail the unit to china and force payment for return shipping passing this off to the end consumer. So it is likely if you buy from Massdrop, you will have to pay for shipping to Massdrop, then pay shipping to china then pay shipping for return from China just to get 90 day warranty fulfillment. That is in fact if AUNE even wants to comply with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. (effectively making warranty claims as difficult as possible to create deterrence)
I understand there is a need for "authorized distributors", but why is it so difficult to make Massdrop one? AKG,Philips,Fostex,Grace,CEntrance,SMSL etc. are even going to extent of making custom designs.
With AUNE's direct high markup from their website, small difficult to find authorized distributors that do not respond back, it is purposely trying to manipulate their market and with the SHADY Scammy response in regard to warranty issues, I find AUNE to be no different than the obscure "generic" name made in china electronic manufacturers we have all been personally taken advantage of over the last 30 years. Except AUNE has the audacity to overcharge for the privilege.
Advocating any purchase from AUNE is a disservice to everyone as this company does not belong in the internet age!
AUNE has gone all silent for a reason...
Sorry I am just now seeing this. Unfortunately, based on the information I have, it does appear that @sales is from Aune.
The nifty thing is that Massdrop always has you covered with a one year warranty if the manufacturer won't honor it for any reason. I am also going to reach out to Aune and try to sort this out because we really like the X1s and some of their other products.
