While this is a great keyboard (I have yet to receive mine from the October drop, expect to receive it in 2 days), the price increase of $10 may nor worth it, considering the time it will take for you to receive it. Not sure why the increase but still cheaper than other online retailers. Pretty sure it's worth every penny.
It's not "superior in pretty much every way" if it lacks features this one has. Macros, volume knob, others.
I'm the most critical keyboard user there is but this looks like they finally have a contender vs the DAS4.
UncleMusketI'm personally for a GMMK, but agree that it's not comparable. The features are different. It lacks one thing I love most about my old Logitech, the volume rocker. I use AutoHotkey to compensate, but it's still not the same.
So is there ever going to be an RGB version of this? I love the design and features but they're both.... lets just say not attractive with the current color offerings (red and type-writer aren't exactly a great selection).
I Bought the "retro" style with the type writer key caps and cheery mx blue switches
Received the keyboard Tuesday (9-26-17). Its now 10-1-17, So Far I love it. Its a hefty Keyboard and feels very solid. I little bit of flex if you try, but on a table its extremely solid.
Before this keyboard I had the Magic-Force 68 Keyboard, which I liked enough to buy two as gifts for family members.
Pros:
Full Size Keyboard, so it has no "layers" that need to be turned on to access some functions.
If you need it it has 5 programmable micro buttons, though this doesn't do anything for me. It would be useful to bind them to functions in Photoshop or other similar programs (or games)
Again its hefty and feels very solid.
Dedicated media keys, Which I use a lot.
Cons:
Loud (Duh, blues are loud) if you have this in an office environment, do yourself and your office mates a favor and put some O-rings or silencers on them. I use this keyboard at home, so i doesn't bother me that much, in fact I find the clicks soothing, though i still might put some silencers on them.
for how big and heavy it is, the rubber pads on the bottom are insubstantial. The keyboard will move around if you put pressure on it.
The hinges for the tilt legs isn't stiff, so in pressure causes them to fall over, however the Magic-Force had this issue as well. Just something to be aware of.
Overall, I'm Happy with the keyboard, and I would Recommend it.
If the backlight was something other than red (ideally blue or purple), I'd grab one of these. I hate red backlighting and have never understood why it is popular.
I joined the drop that ended on 10/18. The keyboard was supposed to be shipped by 11/7 but have not received any tracking info or updates. The transactions page just says "Order placed with vendor". Does anyone know how long is the wait usually?
eesparzaIt "shipped" on the 8th. I got the email late in the day. However, tracking still says not received, only a label has been made. So who knows. :(
