Received today. Hugely disappointed. Always respected Berg and Berg as a mature, adult tie. Today I received the charcoal. Nice colour. Construction is crap. The business end of the tie ( broader end) is single fold and has this dumb stitching like a pair of jeans, visible and accentuated. What rubbish! Either B & B should have pointed out the departure from their norm or at least MD should! Feeling cheated
RajeshRajesh, the tie is listed as having an untipped construction. The business end you refer to with stitching is what this means and actually really nice to have for a summer weight tie.
Is shipping included in this? Just seems like it isnt a screaming deal. 10 bucks off(they aren't $100 msrp) If I search more online I can probably find them on sale No doubt.
Out of curiosity, has there ever been a drop for a tie slimmer than 3" wide? I find even 3" to be too wide on my slim frame. I would potentially be interested in ~2.5" wide ties in a similar price (and quality) range as these.
Have you ever looked at Sam Hober? I've never ordered from them since I have no trouble finding ties that I like in stores, but they're pretty reasonably priced compared to, say, Drakes, and you get to specify the dimensions
sockpuppyNo, I've never heard of them. They do look intriguing, thank you! I'll certainly give them a go.
PS. My comment about the awful ties you find in stores was meant for the thinner variety - you can find good quality standard width ties but not really the thinner widths.
