LISTEN TO ME NOW AND HEAR ME LATER...
MAKE THIS WITH A MECHANICAL MOVEMENT AND THEY WILL COME. I WILL BUY IT. THE WORLD WILL BUY IT.
JUST DO IT. BE BRAVE!
Cosmaracoarethank you. actually my dream involves some showgirls in Vegas. but as to bertucci...the thing is the cases. nothing really compares to that design, especially with a movable bezel. certainly not GPW. but quartz is a non-starter for me. thanks for trying to help tho. if you come across some free showgirls, please let me know.
I'll never understand watch companies that make 100m WR watches and slap dive bezels on them.
Is this a fashion thing now? Because when I see a dive bezel on a 100m watch I think "egg timer".
You take a 100m watch scuba diving then doom on you when it eventually fails.
What do I wear when diving?
A simple Casio Duro on a long NATO strap so it fits on the wet suit as a backup to the dive computer and ~100-120 ft. is my usual limit except when team diving on a wreck using decompression tables and staged tanks.
21 dives so far, no problems with it. Shower with it to rinse the salt water off.
Cheap & quick AF to replace if it fails so meh if it ever does.
Pro-tip: slap a 12-hour bezel on all these 100m "dive watches" so folks can easily track a second time zone and watch them fly off the shelves.
NonyaI definitely see your point and in most situations would probably agree with you that it is almost a purely aesthetic decision to have the bezel added to a 100m WR watch, but you should be aware that Bertucci watches are marketed as field watches. If you go to their website and check out their description for this watch, they make a point to explain how the bezel can be used in conjunction with the time and position of the sun to get a rough estimate of cardinal compass directions.
While I would certainly prefer to have a compass with me in the field to navigate, I think it's a nice touch and (to me at least) demonstrates Bertucci was a little more thoughtful in their reasoning for adding the bezel than just as a glorified egg-timer or to trick the unassuming buyer into thinking this could be used as a dive watch.
I'll also add that nowhere in Bertucci's description do they suggest this watch should be used for diving or even use the term. I only say this to further show that I don't think Bertucci is trying to fool anyone about what this watch is meant for.
How is the durability and quality on these Bertucci? It's to gift to a young man trying to enter law enforcement or army (I guess one of the bezel-less models would be preferable)?
BobrazBertucci watches are very durable and the ergonomics can’t be beat with the recessed crown. I don’t know why more watches aren’t made this way. That said this is my 5th Bertucci and I miss the date which I have on my other watch faces. Get him one with a date window
These should be handed out as free gifts to all Drop members. Agree?

Lots to like here on this one...good size, feature set, titanium case. According to their web page it has integrated (thus titanium) lug bars, so won't work with most 2-piece straps. The little red tip on the minute hand is a nice touch. List price $250.
Mac11I've got the A-4T Illuminated and love it. I'm going to be picking this one up too, since it's basically the same, but without tritium, a little smaller, and has a rotating bezel. Seriously awesome deal right here if you ask me, given the materials.
