planb10113Check the model number on the box and compare it to your order. I thought I'd gotten the wrong one too, the stonewash is just really pale and it is only on the flats of the blade. No complaints on the quality. What exactly is wrong with yours?
JID8Beyond the fact that about 90% of the blade is what I would call a satin finish, I have serious reservations about the safety and reliability of the liner lock. When deployed there's maybe a 15% overlap of the locking surface. Then there's the issue of how thin/flimsy the steel of the blade surrounding the pivot is. I've seen two other users now comment about the blade breaking at the pivot from only light use and that is my exact concern (in the Kendo drop, looks to be the same design).
Long story short, I don't trust this knife for any amount of use and I don't feel safe using it. Massdrop is being great and helping me with a return.
planb10113Thanks for the heads up re breakages. I was kicking myself for missing this last drop, now not so much...;) Ihave always been leery about the hidden stop pin design, it looks good but had my concerns regarding how much steel is removed, I now see too many breakages from various brands using hidden stop pins to bother with them.
planb10113For what it's worth I've put my kendo through the ringer with heavy daily use and have had no issue whatsoever. I think it's the best bang for your buck out there. If anyone has had breaks or locks slipping I'd love to know what the hell they were doing when it broke/slipped?
