These things are absolutely stellar. The sound quality is great with even an entry-level amp and they've stuck with the same time-tested design since 1981, I believe. Classic and functional, not to mention a great deal for the price. A couple of nitpicks for potential buyers: - They can be a little tight if you have a large head. They'll stretch out in time but you'll notice how tight they are right away. - The cable is really long and it's soldered in. I'll be modding mine and adding a mini-XLR port later this year but for now I'm stuck with the super long cheap rubber cable. - The velour pads are sort of hard. This is just my opinion, your mileage may vary. The good news: there are a lot of replacement pads available in many different styles. (here's a great option: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/dekoni-earpads-for-m50x-and-beyerdynamic-dt)
In summary: these are really good headphones all around, and even better for people willing to void a few warranties. I've had no major issues with them so far.

scaredI agree - I love mine. I got a pair from Amazon a few months ago and joined this drop to get a pair for a gift. I'm really impressed with them. I'm not worried about the soldered in cable - I used to worry about it but I have a pair of Sennheisers with the same thing and it hasn't been an issue.

WubbaLubbaDubDubI use an SMSL SD793-II It's probably not the best option but I got it on sale for $40 and it drives my headphones just fine. I mainly just wanted a DAC/AMP with an optical input. I've also heard good things about the FiiO E10K, but it doesn't have a TOSLink port so it didn't fit my requirements. I'll probably get a Magni/Vali+Modi if I decide to upgrade any time soon. Hope this helps :)

WubbaLubbaDubDubFX-audio X6, Chromecast, Mac output (32 Ohms).
It is good with everything.
I still surprise by the quality of this closed headphone I still can't beleive is closed. I don't like closed earbuds.
I have a grado and an Hifiman but the dt770 is also very good and more comfortable.
It's a good choice. Maybe the price here is not a great rebate.
