Is schiit magni 2 uber gonna be sufficient for these? Is higher ohm always better as long as I can power it?

theplaidmooseTo get the most out of the headphones I believe Beyerdynamic recommends 100watts output. Idk what that amp outputs at 600OHMS, but the objective 02 outputs around 100watts at 600OHMS and i believe the Magni is a little more powerful or somewhere around the same? So yea you should be fine.

FRANK_Dukes88Ty for the reply! I assume you mean mwatts. The uber does over 230 at 600 ohm it's a little stronger than the magni 3.

theplaidmooseYea idk much about those Magni's but i knew it was at least on par with the O2 output wise. As long as you're around 100 which is what Beyer reccomends to get everything out of them you're all good. I have the O2 and DT990 600's and they sound amazing. I use them for gaming.

theplaidmooseI have the 990@250 Ohms and I read somewhere that they play optimal when powered with 200mW. So the 880@600 Ohms should have around the same. The OO2 would maybe be ok but i doubt it would power them for best performance. I decided against the 600Ohms - since they are harder to drive. Are the 600Ohms are worth the hustle? For me they clearly were not, but I use the 990 for gaming only. hth

theplaidmooseUnless you already have the Magni 2U, I'd look for something with more than 400mW @ 600 ohms to drive them in SE or XLR. Just for comparison at sub $250 range:
Schiit Magni 2U SE: 600Ω @ 160mW (was $150) Schiit Magni 2U SE: 300Ω @ 320mW
Emotiva BasX A-100 SE: 600Ω @ 350mW /600mW ($229) Aune X7s SE/XLR: 600Ω @ ?mW /?W ($215) Schiit Magni 3 SE: 600Ω @ 230mW ($99) Schiit Asgard 2 SE: 600Ω @ 190mW ($249) JDS Labs Objective2 SE: 600Ω @ 88mW ($99)
Emotiva BasX A-100 SE: 300Ω @ 440mW/1.3W Aune X7s SE/XLR: 300Ω @ 250mW /1W Schiit Magni 3 SE: 300Ω @ 430mW Schiit Asgard 2 SE: 300Ω @ 380mW JDS Labs Objective2 SE: 300Ω @ 178mW

xXxDanXxJust curious: Could you elaborate why you recommend 400mW for a 600Ohm HP?
