Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I bought a FiiO DAC/AMP for use with my Samsung Galaxy. There was no improvement in the sound - it merely needed an amp to drive the cans I was using. Live and learn.
You can't convince people not to spend too much money on audio gear :)
(to be fair, I think he may not speak English. He clearly did not understand what I was saying about mobile devices not needing a DAC because the output is already analog and does not require converting....to..analog. never mind. It's probably wasted on him.)
I got the 32 ohm as a part of a portable setup with a portable usb powered amp and DAC. I use it when I am out of town at the villa. I have a DT990 600 ohm as well for my main setup at home but thats driven by an Arcam IR dac 2 and a tube amp utilizing phillips e288c tubes.
I have listened to mp3s, Flacs, Dsd256 etc. I am not a big fan of mp3s. I was simply pointing out that there is a variation of quality between mp3s. The same is true for Flac. I have flac files that sound worse than mp3 320k. Now this is an exception not the norm. I mostly use flac files because they work best with my software audio player. DSD256 are huge files and are not for me...
