Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

On note of the unit itself though, I must say, I feel disappointed -- at no fault of MassDrop team.
I have three pairs of decent cans prior to this: a Yamaha YHD-2 (antique), an AKG-K240 Monitor 600Ohm (old), and an ATH-A700 32Ohm (kind of old). They all have their strength and weaknesses. This would be my 4th pair of decent cans, and based on what I've seen, they should've been good. But, turns out, they were not as good as I was hoping for.
First, I tried playing them directly on my iPad... I immediately nope'ed my way out. Even on max volume, it sounded hollow and weak.
Then, I tried them on my normal setup (Flac -> MacBook -> TOSLink -> Super Pro DAC 707 -> FIIO E5 > Earphones). They produce clear sound, with no clear strengths or weaknesses, or at least so I thought. Then, I switched them out for my A700 and that's when I realized oh, wait, they're actually not producing as clean of the trebles and as strong of the bass as my A700.
I said to myself, okay, well, these are 600Ohms, and they are only 96db instead of 106db, so they're not as sensitive as my A700. Since I leave my AKG at work, and can't compare them directly, let's try something bigger.
Took them downstairs and plugged them into our Yamaha RX-V671 receiver. It sounded generally all around better, but even then, the A700 still produced more appealing sound than these.
I'll need to bring these to work, or bring my AKG home from work, and compare them again -- 600Ohms vs 600Ohms, so apples to apples -- before I give it a final verdict. But at this rate, I must say I'm kind of disappointed.
