fine price for the low tier, great price for better ones
I got the base model, but it was still a good price, all and all a pretty good gamble, if you dont mind paying this price for the baseic knife then go for it!
The Native is a classic, and for good reason. Great feel in hand, good pocketability. Wish I had gotten a better version, but no complaints for the price.
Got the blue frn s110v. Never been too lucky but even in this case its okay. Got a couple bux off retail for waiting.
second native ive bought and love the knife. Biggest comfortable small knife for my large mitts.
After decades of using and collecting knives I finally gave in and bought a Spyderco. I chose this for the chance at getting a lucky draw and frankly I won't buy another.
It is well made, has good steel, I like what they have done with the handle and that being said it sits unused.
I dislike having to use the blade as part of the handle and all my everyday knives are better in one way or another for less money.
Either you like the Native 5 or you don't. Don't give a bad review here because you don't like the knife. The review is for the Blue Box deal. You're getting the Native 5 S110V lightweight for a decent/standard price, any upgrade or bonus you receive is icing on the cake! Know what you're getting into before you get in on the Blue Box and you know you're going to come out good no matter what. I've done several of these and have only gotten an upgrade or bonus twice. If I don't like or don't need the basic knife and don't get upgrades or a bonus, I just sell the base knife and play again. Do your research before buying and you should always be happy with these Blue Box deals. BTW, I got the Dragonfly Salt as a bonus!
This was only the second “Blue Box” drop I joined, the other being a Delica. I already wanted a Delica to add to my collection so it was a no brainer. Even though I’m not a serrated fan and that was one of the possibilities, I thought it was small enough odds that I’d be ok. Well, you guessed it, I got the half serrated blacked out version. But hey, you win some, you lose some. When this dropped it was the same deal. I had been wanting to try either a Native, Sage, or Chaparral, so jumped in immediately. Didn’t even really check out the upgrades very thoroughly. So when it finally got here and I got the knife open and saw the CPM-154/S90V stamped on the blade I knew I had scored an upgrade, but wasn’t sure which one until I looked back on the site and realized just what awesome upgrade it was. Oh, and the knife? After lots of breaking in, it is now one of the smoothest knives I own which is unbelievable for a back lock, and it is a guillotine. But thanks to the generous and awesome forward finger choil I don’t have to worry. All in all it is an extremely well made, beast of a smaller knife, that has fantastic materials, and I got it for $130. I couldn’t be happier.
