Do any other Bluetooth keyboard adapters alternatives exist? I would love one of these to connect my ErgoDox to my iPad 6th gen.
This is kinda funny. This 80s looking module (not really dissing the asthethic) is seeming the only proper bluetooth adapter for keyboard in this world wide web.
How can I buy one? I want to use an old Goldtouch keyboard with my new ipad, will this work?
My adapter seems to be unresponsive when pairing with my Varmilo VA68M. The thing connects, but it receives no input from my keyboard. Perhaps it's the keyboard? Some help from @handheldsci would be much appreciated.
I have a problem with new version. In MacOS i have a huge delays between pressing key on keyboard and writing symbol in OS (1-10 seconds)! What's the hell?
Does anyone know how the newer revision is? Thinking of picking one of these up. Thanks.
Wow. It came and left the one day I didn't check in. Out of curiosity, what was the price? Was it worth waiting for the next drop or should I try buying it somewhere else?

Alright. I think I'll wait a couple of months.
Thanks
Every single time this drops, it's only a few amounts being sold..
okay well that was dumb, only 60? :/
60 units is really weak.
Bah got here too late. ūüė•

I know, right? Receive notification, click notification, drop inactive, already sold out. Bummer.

ikr :(
I'm so bummed this sold out so fast again! :(
Anyone has any idea about latency consistency/issues?
zombo123
My personal experience: if you let it idle for a bit without typing, it'll be about 1 second to start typing again. But once you start typing, I don't really notice much lag. The only issue I have with it is the short battery life.
Says not compatible with Mac. Uses Mac in product shots. :P
Is this drop for the new BT4.0 version?
http://handheldsci.com/kb
Previous comments from @handheldsci suggest yes. The remaining disclaimer about the lack of Mac compatibility says no.

Thankyou for the clarification. The false Mac information stickied on the description needs to be removed. Leads to confusion and loss of sales. Still hit the 60 mark in like a hour or two. ;)
Awesome, thank you!

So what's the latest on this? What's it's price for USA? Tell us about that red key keyboard you show in the photos. Is it also available?
Just wanted to say that I got mine earlier this week and it works great. I'm using a Pok3r with OS X, Win10, and a Lenovo A10 tablet running Android and it works great. So pumped!
Hello, this is Alan from Handheld Scientific, Inc., the maker of the Bluetooth Keyboard Adapter. In this most recent drop (Feb 2017), we started to ship a new version of the device. It has a number of enhancements including using Bluetooth 4.0 for power saving, supporting keyboards with built-in trackball or hub (e.g., HHKB, Das, Apple, Dell), and limited support of mice. In a small number of adapters there may be a glitch in the firmware where the Control key is adversely set to ON state after powering up, so you may need to press the key one time to get it back to normal OFF state. If that creates a problem for you please write to us (support at handheldsci dot com, or use our web comment form) to see how we can help you. We appreciate everyone who joined this drop and we are doing whatever necessary to serve you.

No. Currently the adapter works only with keyboards and mice but not other types of USB devices. It is possible (and not very hard) to make it work with joysticks but we need enough interest to justify the development. So if anyone wants this (or any other features) to happen please send email to us (support at handheldsci.com) so we can prioritize our resource. We appreciate your feedback.

Well, since I moved my gaming PC to the TV I've been searching for some kind of wireless adapter for joysticks and I couldn't find anything. Lots of PC gamers are moving the PC to the TV as we age and turn into couch potatoes and with the rennaisance of the space game (Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, etc) there is probably a market.
There is a logitech wireless joystick but it's really bad.
Doesn't anyone know where i can get those keycaps? Are they PBT?
what keyboard is that? a Pok3r with blue backlighting and acrylic case?

thanks!
I have finished modding mine to take an external 3-AA Eneloop battery pack so I have no need for the battery it was shipped with. If anyone needs it, let me know here.
Any updates on shipping ? I may be moving soon so I'd like to know if I need to change my address
Some important information missing from the description page is that this item has a programmable firmware which lets you control quite a few features.
You can read more about it on the mfr page. http://handheldsci.com/kb
Not a shill, just a happy customer who couldn't wait for the drop to come back so ended up buying it directly from the mfr instead. If you want to get your favorite mech kbd and make it wireless, short of DIY kits, this was the only way I could find. I have it currently hooked up to a Poker II controlling Kodi on an HTPC.
Recently got a programmable 21-key numpad [link below] and will use that along with customized keys in Kodi and this adapter for an even slimmer device to control Kodi pretty much completely while it is playing. https://world.taobao.com/item/522047023580.htm?fromSite=main&spm=a312a.7728556.0.0.8qVl8I
Only problem I have with this unit is its battery life because with the HTPC-required keep-alive setting turned on, the battery only lasts up to 10 hrs max, which isn't long when playing multiple movies. Am planning to de-solder the circuit and add external 3-AA batt holders with barrel connectors so I can swap out dead batteries immediately instead of waiting to recharge it. Will use Eneloops with this system. Will look kludgy, but sitting by itself on a coffee table, it wont take up enough space to bother me.

Is there any latency?
zombo123
I don't notice any latency for what I use it for and the only situation where it would apply to me in my scenario is the movie pause function and I can honestly say it seems instantaneous to me.
How long did this drop last? Just saw it in my mailbox and then the next thing you know it's already over.
How much did this sell for?
Geez..what happened?! did i missed the boat?
jazzaddict
I see the boat, just didn't want to get in. Mac users have better taste.
Does anyone have a schematic for something like this?
So that's weird. I just got emailed about this drop going live this morning and now it has ended.

Just another Mass-dropped-the-ball-disaster.

Looks like it was a limited drop, only 60 units. Too bad.
Thanks memedrop
Ok and suddenly this is gone?
