Just got mind. The layering is sweet, but the grind is pretty bad. But hell, for under 60 bucks its a cool little slipjoint.

Anyone know whether there is a model like this with assisted open? I love the look of the knife, but this isn’t the drop for me.

They've got this: https://www.bokerusa.com/pocketknives/boker-plus/classic-knives/urban-trapper-damasteel-01bo739dam. I don't really like the skelatonized handle though.

Does anyone know how it opens? Im from Canada (sadly) where many styles of knives are illegal.

Victor7You should be fine with this knife. Since it requires a nail knick to open, chances are it has enough resistance to not be classified as a gravity-opening knife. It also doesn't have a spring loaded opening mechanism (assisted).
