Had it, loved it, lost it. Tried to replace it with the boker urban trapper, and I should have just put the money toward ordering this from amazon. I won't claim to be a full-blown knife nerd, but of the several EDC knives I've owned over the years, this is hands down my favorite. 250 requests, please reopen this drop. I'd prefer to support massdrop, but I'm getting another one of these one way or another...
Said it before, will say it again, the Boker Plus Kwaiken Mini in all its forms (G-10, titanium, other scales) is great.
Functional, mechanically satisfying, reliable, and very well suited for EDC in an office environment.
Have had this (G10/VG-10) as my office carry knife for a couple of weeks now. This is one of my favorite knives in my collection. Has a distinctive, classy, Asian feel to it that gives it a real sense of character - like if I told a non-knife person that my wife's grandpa got in Okinawa during the war and gave it to me as a welcome to the family gift, they'd probably believe me if you didn't inspect it closely :). Quality all around - materials, design, and action. Very functional. Highly recommended for light-moderate duty usage in environments where discreet and classy is the order of the day.
Why is shippin so ridiculously expensive with this drop? Other knives shipped for around 5$ to Germany. This one's supposed to be 21$. Anyone else experiencing this? It eats up all potential savings.
I love this little knife. its small and unobtrusive, looks great (although I ended up with the g10 rather than the CF I ordered but MD have looked after me). it has a great action with the IKBS system and at the moment, is easily my favourite.
MD made a mistake on my order and only sent me the g10 version rather than the CF. On another group (also within Aus), I had someone tell me that they ordered a g10 and got a CF so, not sure if this is a semi common occurance.
djprwell thats concerning, I just ordered one of these today in the CF version. I really don't want the knife in any other configuration. There is no refunds so I guess I'm SOL if the G10 version shows up.
Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.

Am I missing something? Amazon has it for $108. Where are the perks? I own 2 Tuxedos and an Aus 8. Good knives.
Edit; I am looking for custom scales and someone to do an acid+stone wash on my Orange Kwaiken Aus 8. Also looking for some ideas to do on my Tuxedo. My other Tuxedo has textured bolsters and back spacer. All Ti anodized high polished blue.
TylerDurden333Yea, but AUS8 though. VG-10 is (in my opinion) a far better steel.
So the cheapest amazon version of this I can find is 120. So this is still 15% off of that.
JonasOI thought the Kwaikens with the thumb disk run AUS8 and the flippers run VG10. I could be completely wrong though. I know my Tuxs are VG10 and my Kwaiken with Orange Scales and the thumb disc is AUS8.
This looks like a really nice knife. I have the Kwaiken in Carbon, and it's a very cool looking knife, but a bit too large to deploy in polite company , and the scales are a little slippery. The mini-ness of this and the G-10 would address my only two main complaints.
jakieffeI'd like it if massdrop listed the amazon price, so Americans could see that and not clog up every discussion with amazon prices every second comment
congapraiseI think the majoity of knives are priced right. I like this size, it's an easy one hand open and close knife........I have both sizes and after awhile I began to favor the mini...it's like anything else it's just my taste against yours..what I would really like is a polished blade, it makes the knife really good looking.
