In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Böker Plus is re-releasing a limited number of its best-selling knives—with a few choice upgrades. The Decade Edition of the Böker Plus Lightweight 3000, for example, now comes with a VG-10 stainless steel blade instead of the original 440C. And in place of G10 handle scales, the commemorative edition features a lightweight carbon fiber construction.
Note: Due to additional scrutiny and increased seizures at Customs this drop will be limited to members within the US. This drop is limited to 60 knives.
Of course, many of the design elements of this gentleman’s folder have gone unchanged. Like its predecessor, the Decade Edition features a drop-point hollow-ground blade without a mechanism for one-handed blade deployment. The knife is equipped with a tip-down pocket clip, which is positioned for right-handed carry, although it’s removable to preserve its slim profile. And the back of the handle, with its lockback design, is still equipped with a full-length back spacer.
Solingen, Germany—known appropriately enough as The City of Blades—has served as the home of Böker since 1869. Even as far back as the 17th century, this family-owned company was known around Europe as a toolmaker. Today, Böker is Europe’s largest manufacturer of sport knives, tactical knives, and collector knives, and the chestnut tree that once stood in front of the first Böker factory now serves as the iconic emblem of one of the most trusted names in knives.
