I'm using a Zerowater pitcher with a dehumidifier I have and so far that seems to have eliminated any of the white dust.
I used to have one of these when Boneco was Air-O-Swiss.

Filling the reservoir was pretty awkward, requiring you to hold it upside down while balancing it.

Biggest issue for me was that it'd coat everything nearby with a layer of white dust(from minerals in the water such as calcium) that was nearly impossible to keep up with, despite using their demineralization cartridge. I also got concerned with the dust building up inside electronics and computers, which ultimately led me to abandon the unit.

You can avoid the issue if you only use distilled water, but I eventually went with an evaporative type of humidifier.
