Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Here's my rather odd disappointment. These, along with the Mee audio blue box iems i purchased previously were supposed to be stocking stuffers for my 3 kids this Christmas. However, the packaging on these is way too nice. My kids don't care about audio quality, but they would totally have thought that whoever got these was the favorite child. Oh well, just joined the current Mee blue box to fill out the third stocking. These will go in the car for when the kids forget their headphones.
So here's the good part for me. The tips included with these are pretty good quality, and fit my 1More Triples. They are way more comfortable than the ones that came with the Triples, and solve my only real complaint with them - that I couldn't quite get a perfect fit. The better seal and isolation actually even improved their sound a bit on top of it. Unexpected score!
What follows doesn't change my fundamental opinion of the M100, because I think EQ and tweaks should be for fun and flavor, not to get to basic good quality. This is just intel as a starting point for others to experiment if they want, because I won't be spending more time messing with these. For the heck of it, I put the foam 1More tips on the M100, and sure enough they did improve the sound. Combined with EQ (pasted my settings below), I was able to get much better (I'd even say pretty good) sound out of them. The 1More tips have a wider opening and placed the opening further in the ear than the ones included with the M100s. If you got these and are disappointed with them, it might be worth experimenting with different tips that vary those factors + EQ to see if you can improve the sound to your liking - it can definitely make a difference.
