I don't get why people are complaining here...Sure we're already past the original (estimated) ship date, but you should know by now that Massdrop can't always keep those dates. Especially not for drops of this size. And to be honest, if you need something urgently, order it directly from amazon or whatever and not from here.

My last pair of headphones just broke yesterday so I'm headphoneless until these come in. So I am a bit impatient, but the wait hasn't been terrible yet.

Heyo Everyone,
Grab bag, round 2! We're excited to be working with Brainwavz to bring you guys a neat promotional event. We've dropped both the S0 and S1 in the past and none of the IEMs have ever been this low a price, so it's definitely a pretty neat value add if you don't mind a little bit of RNG in the product you get.
As per last time, we've got some really neat prizes members can win joining the drop. You can probably guess what some of them are just by their retail value, but maybe one or two will come as a surprise to you. All of them will be revealed as we reach the milestones.
Also as per last time, a couple upvotes go a long way towards loosening the tongue and revealing prizes ahead of schedule... :)
Happy to answer any questions.

This is my first Massdrop purchase. I have to say I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to think at how long it is taking to get my purchase. It will be one month in five days and I still haven't received anything. If I receive the basic model from the two I ordered I'm afraid I'm going to be under the impression that I should just order in a much more direct fashion in the future.

If you're Canadian expect it to be weeks longer than what our American counterparts get, I can't imagine what it's like for the Euros or the Aussies. To me that's part of the fun of a Grab Bag, the suspense but definitely not the long wait (but part of the game).

Ditto. It is 9/15, and I still have not received any shipping info. This is my second drop. I am very patient so I will continue to wait. I would say the discount is usually not that extreme. For some of the products I can find comparable prices or just a little bit higher elsewhere. I'm doing this drop because of the thrill of winning something. My primary e-commerce source will be Amazon / eBay / Jet, etc. This is definitely a very slow way to buy.
Ok, I'm confused. So what do you exactly get for the $20? Do you get all of this:
1 Brainwavz Jive OR 1 Brainwavz S0 OR 1 Brainwavz S1 OR 1 Brainwavz M5 OR 1 Brainwavz M5 with mic OR 1 Massdrop Prize
or just one of those????? Is this any of this worth for $20??? Someone please explaine!

HellreaverHellreaver...This drop is presented in a such a manner that it "begs" the question "just what do I get in exchange for my payment?" It is very obfuscated. BTW...your sentence construction is incorrect, is it not?

It appears that reading comprehension is a lost skill among this group. Let me break it down for all of you having a hard time understanding the concept of a 'Grab Bag'. You're not gonna find out what you get until you receive your package!! That was explained several times throughout this campaign. Now it's spelled out once more. I wonder how long before the next comment is posted complaining that they 'don't know what they got'.

FatStaxMuch appreciated.
FatStaxSeriously, thank you for being the person that finally snapped; I get real close to hitting "Submit" instead of Cancel some days. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the Massdrop offices and see the amount of eye-rolling and wtf'ing that goes on while reading discussion threads at times.

We are back with some great news and some new developments in regards to the prize pool (all positive for the community) to share with the group. The original prize pool consisted of:
Jive: 2000 S0: 500 S1: 1000 M5: 1000 M5 w/ Mic: 1500
Due to the vendor not having enough of the Jives/M5s and the overwhelming support of the community, Brainwavz decided to offer S5s (retail value $99.50) into the prize pool.  The final breakdown consists of:
Jive: 1300 S0: 500 S1: 1000 S5: 1760 M5: 720 M5 w/ Mic: 720
All of the prizes have now been allocated out, and our warehouse has begun fulfilling individual orders.  Due to the sheer volume of this drop however, it will take our warehouse a couple days to get through everyone’s orders.
The grand prize drawings have also been allocated!  Please see below to find out if you are one of the lucky few (initials were posted if no username was present).
AKG K7XX Massdrop First Edition Headphone:  S.N AKG K7XX Massdrop First Edition Headphone: L.S Sennheiser G4ME ZERO Gaming Headset: M.M Shure SE535 Earphones: terriakijerky Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor OR Sennheiser HD 700: Seigmen Sennheiser HD 800: R.N
If you are one of the members that had a lucky pull, our team will be personally reaching out to you tomorrow to provide additional info!
Thank you again to everyone who made this drop so successful and your continued support of the community!
You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 9/16.

background: I own a great many headphones. My favorites of more than a dozen are the Senn HD800s, Senn HD650s, and Beyerdynamic DT990s. In the realm of IEMs I've owned a bunch, from Monoprice's surprisingly good ~$5 buds to Brainwavz's M-series, to expensive units made by Shure.
I received two packages of the B100s on this drop and plugged them in without knowledge of their price, quality, or typical reviews. I listened to a variety of unequalized FLACs on a FiiO x5.
I'm quite impressed. Build quality is exemplary. The soundstage seems exceptionally wide. The sound is very neutral. Vocals and midrange are amazingly clear. In terms of sound, they most remind me of Sennheiser's understated, excellent HD600 open headphones. The bass is there but the B100s are not trying to be a "fun" hip-hop headphone.
Reading through some of the reviews, I can't help but offer a bit of advice. I received a higher-quality IEM than some, but I own many of Brainwavz' M-series and found them decent in terms of sound. If you don't like how your IEMs sound, and you don't have a lot of experience with these sorts of earphones, I strongly recommend you try out all of the sizes and types of earbuds that are included. For me, the extra-large silicone earpieces work the best; other people swear by the foam earpieces (which sound like crap to me, even the expensive branded ones.) The success of these sorts of phones are highly dependent on fit, so make sure you're finding the fit that works for you before dismissing your purchase as terrible.

kennethfineBTW, I did try the fancy red Comply branded foam earpieces on the B100s today. To my ears, they made the B100s sound thin, weak, and generally terrible vs. the silicone earpieces. I'm guessing this is because the included Comply tips aren't large enough for my ear canal and do not make a good seal, rather than anything wrong with Comply's product per se. So I'll reiterate my suggestion that no matter which headphones Massdrop dropped to you, definitely play around with the different earpiece options and find what works best for you.

kennethfineBut look at all these reviews... https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/brainwavz-m100-iem-noise-isolating-earphones-with-remote-microphone-headset-for-iphone-ipad-ipod-android-devices.22055/reviews All of them agree that M100 sounds muddy as f***, there whole upper half is terrible. I've also read some reviews of the other models, and they're totally different. Even the M series. But 40% is a pretty darn big chance of receiving some piece of crap...
