I have had the stiletto for about ten years and use it often. I consider it a staple tool, love it! I'm giving this new one to my daughter, who is a beginner in sewing and quilting. However, I'm keeping the seam ripper. I've been using it for the past month and it is awesome! I have about five seam rippers and it's my new favorite. The point is so fine, it's the best so far for getting under those stitches when I need to rip.
Love these. Had one set and liked them so much I got a second set. The seam ripper is the best I have ever used. It's extremely sharp and the fine point makes it easier to get under a stitch. Really nice when paper piecing.
Since I do not use these items, all I can tell you is they look nice, have crisp looking machining and the wife freaked when she saw them. According to the recipient, they are small and therefore great to use when in less than adequate areas. She commented on the weight of the tools positively. She has taken them out to the sewing room. I dare not enter, but overall I would say I did good when I chose these items as a gift.
The Brass Seam Ripper is very sharp. Both the Stiletto and Seam Ripper are nice to hold onto and easy to find in my box of tools next to my sewing machine.
I ordered this set as a back-up because I love and use my Brass Seam Ripper on a daily basis. It goes everywhere I go. I've tried several other brands and this is my favorite, hands down.
I'm very happy with the seam ripper and stiletto - they look great, are easy to keep track of, and are super sharp. I ripped black thread on black fabric seams from my serger and coverstitch with easy; the stiletto is great for feeding fiddly fabrics evenly through my presser foot, and or marking spots for rivets and snaps. I bought an additional set for a friend and she loves them too. I've been sewing for 20+ years and have gone through a number of seam rippers - these are top notch tools.
