While a pocket scope is limited in magnification, the Brunton is surprisingly strong for its size. My personal test passed with flying colors - to spot a stop sign a block away or read a street name sign from the same distance is one of the main uses and they both work perfectly for me. Great for public transportation when a GPS device is not available.

Very happy with mine. So small yet clear view and powerful for the size and cost. I used it in the woods and at the theatre. I would buy it again.

Feather-light, Truly Pocketable
As you might expect, this is light-duty magnification - that isn't to say that it doesn't come in a rugged, lightweight, ergonomic, and truly compact case.

Brilliant! For it size, functionality, durability and portability are outstanding. Great gift, too.

Unfortunately this scope is not worth the cost of shipping! I was so surprised that this was a Brunton product as it falls into the dollar store junk category for me.

Junk...bad optics and flawed lens. Flushed money down the toilet

Normally I like Brunton products but this “scope“ is cheap and barely works.

I suspect that it is a fake. Brunton wouldn't be in business very long if this was the quality of their merchandise. Never a clear image. Always a little out of focus.

I've been pondering a monocular for my EDC and for use hiking for a while, but not sure if I'd prefer it over my compact Nikon binoculars. The Nikons are just too big for EDC and I want something lighter for hiking. I find this scope useful, the size and weight work well for EDC but haven't had a chance to hike with it. I was surprised at how close it focuses, it could be used to look at bugs and such. On the down side, the field of view (if that's the right term) seems small and I really get that whole "looking through a toilet tube" experience that I don't really get using the compact Nikons. After my experience with these, I will definitely look at other brands/models to see if a higher price-point monocular eliminates these concerns. While I like this product, its not what I'd choose as a final solution.

Cute, but not useful
Small, light, cheap, but too difficult to hold steady enough to be useful.
