The CAD E100S is a supercardioid condenser microphone featuring a large diaphragm and the lowest noise floor in its class. It has a bootstrapped, full differential Quadra-FET front end and CAD’s proprietary circuitry to enhance recording quality Read More
I've been using this microphone for a few years now. It was my first "massdrop" purchase back in 2016. I've had nothing but great experiences with the CAD E100S
I've dabbled with a handful of recordings for instruments but I primarily use it for voice. The microphone provides robust, accurate, and noiseless recordings through a scarlett mixer. I play a lot of FPS games and use this microphone for my primary VOIP needs. I get asked what microphone I have on a daily basis
I understand this isn't the most technical, nor in-depth review, but I highly recommend this microphone for anyone that is seeking a quality, high end microphone
Works great, sounds great, nice shipping box. Only thing preventing me from giving this a 5-star is the fact that I often need to completely unplug/replug-in the mic for the gain to get back to normal, and I've also watched videos about how the mic can have a high noise floor - though I'm not really sure how to verify/validate this. Thanks.
If you are looking for a mic that is rich and smooth, that can make even a harsh voice sound like butter, this is it!
The mic I got was absolutely perfect. No noise at all as opposed to the batch that did have issues, the one I got was flawless even 2 years later. I put it up against my Sennheiser 416 any day. I love this mic!
The only negative I encountered was the bands for the shockmount giving out. They are not the easiest to physically replace, but I bet they are the easiest to get a ton of.
Received a defective one. The high pass filter on it was noisy. Sent back to CAD for warranty service. It's fine now. The money I saved on purchase did not make up for the extra hassle it required. I should have just bought a new one instead of taking a chance on a a drop. Many others who purchased this mic had similar complaints. Not buying through massdrop again.
