The Canon M5/6 are good cameras, but I'd seriously question Canon's commitment to the mount with the release of the EOS R a few weeks ago. Sure, you can adapt Canon DSLR lenses to EOS M, but have you seen how big those lenses are, and how small these bodies are? A solution, for sure, but not one I would buy into a system for (more like icing on the cake). If the camera and current lens options work for you, then great - i just wouldn't expect too much more to come out quickly.

AliasfoxYeah, not sure if they're keeping this line, especially since the embarrassing release of the original EOS M in the US market (they did well overseas, though, so it's got that going for it). Plus with the new EOS R, all EF and EF-S lenses are 'backwards compatible' so to speak, but not EF-M lenses (you can't mount an EF-M lens onto the EOS R). So, yeah. I have an aged EOS M3 I bought used a few years back that now has a line showing up when I take pictures (probably a sensor problem). I'm looking towards replacing it but with what - I don't know yet.
PS. What I really want is just a good camera with a vari-angle screen so I don't have to break my neck taking astrophotography+landscapes at weird angles :/
