Hi - I've been using my Slim for a little over a week now; It's great! Prior to the Slim I had been using my iBasso DAP w/Wolfson DAC chip in USB DAC mode which works great, but now I want to tie the computer to my stereo system and having a 'dedicated' DAC would work better for me. With VISTA OS I've had absolutely no problems! I do not hear any noise w/either IEM (24ohm) or Headphone (50ohm) in low and high gain, though I must admit I don't hear the high notes like I use to either. As for audio quality, both the DAP and the Slim are quite an improvement over the RealTek soundcard on my laptop which, in itself, I thought was pretty good. Better bass and treble extension, more expansive soundstage and forward mids (headphone out on the laptop sounded congested w/recessed mids). And, IMO, the Slim sounds more 'refined' over the DAP to my ears. Very pleasing! Finally, I'm very impressed with CEntrance's customer relations - they've been w/us from the beginning and held our hands (babysat?) throughout this whole time - I haven't seen another company go 'the extra mile' like they have. I am certain they are not getting rich off us (do the math), but what they are offering is a great product at at very reasonable price. I couldn't be happier, and I will definitely look to CEntrance for any upgrading in the future.
